Why change party hunting laws?

I really hope that is a rumor. I am below the rifle line, I firmly believe that some sort of QDM will happen down here, but I am hoping it is something other than antler restrictions. Of course, if they extend the 3A season like they would like, I would be more in favor of it.

Rumor, strictly rumor, is that peeps are working on anything below the "rifle" line to become Antler Restriction. Rumor, just a rumor.

That would work out well in 282-283 type areas...... LMAO

I don't have the issue in front of me right now but the short version was that there wouldn't be statewide changes. Instead the DNR may try different things in different areas. Specifics weren't given because the ydon't have them yet. There is interest in getting rid of buck party hunting. Seasons may be moved back but there isn't much hunter support. Lou stated that there was actually more interest in AR than moving the season. If a season does get moved it will be in the south. So it sounds like there is a pretty good chance that changed are on the horizon but as always the public will be involved. So whatever side of the fence you're on make sure your voice is heard when the time comes. Lou does say that the DNR's number one priority is population management. Once the DNR gets the populations where they want them then they will work on the social stuff like th enumber of older bucks. The big thing right now is how this winter is going to affect the herd. Especially in the Arrowhead. He stated that there are probably going to be more lottery areas for antlerless permits.
