fishinchicks
Has anyone rented a laser light machine without having to hire a company or DJ? Just wondering if it is even an option.
Sandmannd
Back in my band days you could rent them. I'm sure you can. Not sure where, but check the internet for a production company. They deal in lighting and PA's.
snoozebutton
Okay, where's the party?
fishinchicks
This is the funny part - it is for the SW Minnesota Syond of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. I am on the program committee, and we are trying to "think outside the box".
Eric Wettschreck
Chicks, just hire Pink Floyd. They come with a light show.
fishinchicks
That would be one way to get off the committee early...

Windy City
I own a DJ company and the compact lasers are pretty cheap. Most come programmed to do basic shapes in a random order. Red lasers are cheapest, the green ones are the expensive ones.

kr8r.tom
go get 5 laser pointers for doing presentations and you and 4 co-commitee people can do crazy eights on the ceiling during the event.
Windy City
If you want to get one, I know that I have American DJ lasers and the small ones I have are called Black Widows. Cheap and fun!
fishinchicks
Thanks for all the replies! I had a conference to attend this weekend, and ended up getting sick, so I haven't checked in here for a few days.I found a company in the Cities that rents the right equipment, but in talking to the owner, found that our venue wouldn't work very well. It is wide and shallow, with a lower ceiling and a ton of windows. So, the other committee members and I decided not to go this route. What I did find would be really fun for an after prom party, or a really awesome birthday bash, though!
