Tom Linderholm
Dang it Traveler, knock it off. Got 5 weeks till I'll be striping. Nice pics BTW!
traveler
5 weeks? You Dog! I don't know if you've been following, but the striper bite has been red hot since Nov., with a little let off around Christmas. Just the last couple days things have cooled off some, but they're still doing multiples for the most part. Hope it stays strong for you:) Do you have your boat lined up? Marlin Masters again? Tom Linderholm
Haven't lined it up yet, but plan on MM again. Trying to square off 3 trips while we are down there. Just have to find things for the wives to do, that and scrape together a little more money. If it's half as good as it's been now, it will be well worth it! traveler
You got that right! Word on the street was that MM was going down the tubes, but thats unconfirmed. Just thought I'd give you a heads up, maybe I wouldn't give them a down payment...just in case. I've been useing Redrum with good results, and I'm itching to try an outfit Called Renegade Mike. Supposed to be a good outfit...he's useing electronics more than most down there from what I understand, very helpful when making bait, and also when deep dropping off the gate. Google him up and see what you think.
Sandmannd
Very cool. I'm jealous man. Warm and fishing the sea, don't get much better this time of year. Nice pics.
snoozebutton
well, not quite what I had in mind, but i guess you can click on the thumbs and they resize. Man, this computer/photo thing is tricky! No problem. Just click on any of the picks and you can then click on slideshow to see them all. Nice pics BTW, would love to be down there as opposed to this weather we've been having lately.

rcook72
Just looked at your pictures again. is that a wahoo, or a huge King?
traveler
It sure tasted like a wahoo! They have to be my favorite eating saltwater fish (so far). Get yourself down to Cabo soon...the marlin bite has been great since november:)
Tom Linderholm
Traveler, John from Red Rum wanted me to say thanks for the recomendation.I'll be at Golden Gate on Tuesday! Stoked!
traveler
sweet...hope the bite is still hot when you get there! Johns a good egg, I hope Redrum works well for you. Did you check with marlin masters? Rumor had it they were in trouble...
Tom Linderholm
As of yesterday Golden Gate is still hot! We plan to talk with Marlin Masters when we get down there, seems they no longer have the 36' Yellowin with the trip 250's. That kinda sealed the deal with going with Red Rum, it's nice to run 40 miles in half the time.
NCLaker
Looks like an awesome outing! We went fishing in Costa Rica 2 months ago - All bill fish are manditory CPR. Is it the same way in Cabo?We did pretty well - had a great captain. 2 sailfish (~120# each, and 2 Mahi 50# & 60#). Mahi ranks up there with my favorite, along with Baraccuda. traveler
It isn't...yet. Lots of good folks working towards that goal, but Mexico is not CR, unfortunatly. As far as Cabo goes, it's gone from a total meat market 20 years ago to many, if not most, of the better charters heavily promoting C&R. Watching a sail or a marlin slowly finning away from the boat after a mad fight is one of the coolest sights in all of fishing.
