Flexable Gas Hose

Does anybody know if there is a flexable gas hose that I can use with my buddy heater? The hose I now have gets so stiff and is not easy to work with. It is the green rubber gas hose that Blaines Farm & Fleet sells for the heaters. Any suggestions well appreciated! Smitty

That's about all I've seen out there. When it's as cold as it's been this year nothing is going to behave as it should.

Dan, there is a green buddy hose, which is very stiff in cold weather, and there is a black one that is much better, softer, and even at 0 degrees, very flexible. not sure which one you have, but i had the green one and sent it back and got the black one.

What Rocki said is true. I have the green hose since it isn't supposed to leech chemicals into the filter, however it is stiff as rock when cold. I was out with someone who had the black line and I could not believe when I packed up his heater at the end of the night that it was still as soft as when I put it out. Kinda wish I bought that one instead now.

Nice info to know. I bought the green one awhile back and have been swearing at the thing since. Almost impossible to hook a Mr. Heater/Cooker up with it and have the tank outside. I need to find the black hose. Have had to use my regular sunflower this last cold-snap.

I have been leaving the green house in my truck until I am ready to use it and it stays soft until you are ready to set up. That way it is flexible. I wouldnt mind the black one though.

tractor supply and menards has the black ones, I got 12 footers and they work great,good luck.

For you guys that have the buddy heaters I was told by a guy (small engine mech) from our local fleet store that the green hose is the one you want to use because of the material in the black hose breaks down and plugs up the buddy heaters so they do not work. This is comeing from a guy that works on the heaters and tears them apart for a living. He got this info right from Mr Buddy support people. He wasnt sure if he would still by one yet.

If you buy the filter for the hose, that should save on the contaminates getting into your heater....right? Smitty

That is the impression I was under. Change your filter once a year and you would be fine. I thought I heard that you didn't need the filter with the green hose, but the guy at Gander could not confirm that, so I felt the extra $10 would be worth it to keep my new Big buddy working for a long time.

I think it says right on the Big Buddy box that the ID number for the green hose does not need the filter, thus I bought that one. But like others have said it does seem very stiff in cold weather. I have torqued it quite a bit though and knock on wood, it hasn't broke and I can always get propane through it. One of my buddys has the 5' black hose. Much more flexible but it would be nice if they would make one that didn't need the filter.

I use the black hose form Cabelas in the camping area works well I can flex it by hand when needed. It's over by the camping stoves.
