Rebel9921
Im actually not counting down to the season opener... but more of counting down to when it'll be 60 degrees or warmer and the snow's all melted away then that means I can work on my boat... and sooner I finish the boat, sooner my season opener will come... Nick Kuhn
For me it is may 1st, haha cause I go to UW-Madison May 23rd for us northern zone guys. It's weird because I'm northern zone for muskie and pike but southern zone for bass...

whitewolf6647
That's the nice thing about livig so close to SD their season never closes so as soon as the ice goes off I can go. So right around the middle of April is usually my start date.

mroyten
Isn't there an extended season this year in Wisconsin? With the season opening much soon but only barbless? Thought I read that somewhere... Other than that, I've lining up baits I plan on throwing on opener.
whitewolf6647
Actually yes there is there are only about 4-5 lakes in the entire state that have them stocked and it just so happens two of them are pretty close to drive to spend a few hours and drive home. Jeff looks like you will just have to take a "business" trip to madison in early May.
mtreno
going to do the ky thing again this spring - 10 days ending with a pmtt win is what i have in mind right now. sd has some stocked lakes that are fairly underfished - been to one three times no with poor reports. did release a smally that would have pushed sd state records...... thinking a fall pheasent/musky trip may trip things in my favor out there this year. whitewolf6647
Natural no, they are all stocked and yes everything remains open year round. The only exceptions are for paddlefish and fishing in some streams and rivers, but then it's only closed from March 1st till May 31st. I believe there's a few other exceptions but you'll have to go the the SD game fish and parks page and look for yourself to get all the info on it.
