Got out today on a small 40 acre lake and had a great time.I caught big bluegills from 9 till 4 this afternoon and they bit like crazy all day. The ones I kept were the 12 smallest of the day.

went out on the same small lake and for the most part repeated tuesday. Only differance was fish were caught suspended over 30 feet of water.

Went out today with my Dad and we caught a few mules! They were pretty active most of the day.

Boy, I'm gonna have to put a pic up of the sunny I caught last week, 12.5"! Thing was a hog!!! Me and a couple of my buddies caught a whole mess of bluegill that were all 9-11 inches!!! Secret lake lol I'm gettin 6 of them mounted together with 6 other crappies that are 14-16in! Should be a sweet mount!!

Very nice fish ladies and gents. Keep in mind keeping a big panfish is the same as keeping a big walleye. The big fish are the breeders with the good genetics you want in a lake. Let the big guys go unless they are going on your wall. They don't taste as good anyway. Good luck!

Feathers - you say that about not keeping the big ones and I agree the smaller ones are better eating but the lakes I fish up here have a 11" or bigger only slot. So we end up catching of 10, 10.5, 10.75" crappies and they have to go back down and at the end of the evening you end up with a limit of 11,12, 13, 14" crappies. The DNR crew checks us a lot and makes us dump our fish out and they measure them. Heck last April there were 20-25 guys fishing a hot spot standing on the ice on a nice day and the DNR came rushing in with 3 or 4 ATV's and yelled for "no one to move or leave their fishing hole!" and proceeded to check everyone's license and measured everyone's fish, everyone was compliant on both requests. But my point is why do they want us keeping only the larger fish?
