BuckKiller
okay some people wanted to hear the story and get field pics.I can't figure out the pics thing but ill see if chris can show me. but anywho the true story...on the morning of the 15 I got to my stand aroung 6:15 (a little earlier then normal) because I still needed to set my stand up. I got to the top of the tree around 6:30 still plenty early. as the minutes passed i remember thinking that i wasn't gonna shoot a doe, fawn or small buck because i had already shot an 8 point on opening day (same tree). not thinking i was going to get any shots in i was day dreaming and starting to doze off... i know what your thinking how do you doze off in 15 min of sitting...well i was tired lol. any way at about 5 after 7:00 i heard some stix break which caught my attention. I looked be hind me expecting to see a deer but saw nothing. disapointed i turned back around and continued day dreaming. about 10 min later i heard another stick crack (closer this time) and the sound of leaves being walked on. so i slowly turned around again to find this huge buck walking right towards me at about 30 yrds out. at this point i was't really sure how big it was but knew i wanted him. i slowly started to stand up when he suddely stoped walking and started sniffing the air. he had detected me... at this point i started getting worried but kept my cool and clicked off the safty. he happened to hear the click and ducked down like he was going to run but for some odd reason decided to stay. by this time i had the scope on him but he had already started walking away. I wasn't about to shoot him in the back so i just waited for him to turn broad side. as soon as he did i fired one shot (about 40 yrds from me) and he went right down, i watched as he tried to get back up but he soon stoped moving. I then got down from my stand to discover i had hit him a little higher then i had hope. i hit both lungs but high and the spine which instantly paralized the beast. I got so excited i had to go tell my dad the good news. lol he seemed happier then i was at the sight of this trophy.See you at the deer classic in spring!
