yakfisher
I'm orginally from East Grand Forks and have been to the Ralph many times. My dad has season tickets for the sue that he calls expensive Gopher tickets. We are both big Gopher fans. The atmosphere at the Ralph is not the same as it used to be in the old rink. Now games are more like a social event with many fans in the seats have no idea how the game is played. Just my two cents. I couldn't agree more about the atmosphere. The old rink seated just over 5000 fans and 2500 of the tickets went to students who had to wait outside in line to get a seat. The bigger the match-up, the earlier one had to show up to get a seat. I describe the new rink this way. The nicest place I have ever watched a hockey game, the worst place I have watched Sioux hockey. Although during the West Regionals, when the Gophers choked to Holy Cross, that place was pretty raucous. Otherwise the crowd can go flat pretty fast, that didn't happen all that often in the old tin Ralph. It is a rink to see though, not a bad seat in the place and leather and marble everywhere. It's like a casino without the slot machines.
so haaad
Back to the topic of hockey...Gophers get a win and a tie at Wisconsin. They looked a little sluggish at times on Friday night, but looked really well on Saturday.
so haaad
Gophers looked really good this weekend. I'm a little surprised at how well they are playing together.
ole
The Gophs look good so far. Now if everybody sticks around for a while we might have a shot at the title again.ole

Bryce
Sioux will still be there at the end of the season. Even if it's just enough to Holy Cross the rodents, they'll be there. Good looking team the rodents have so far but haven't we seen late season fizzles in the past? Repeatedly?

Good looking team the rodents have so far but haven't we seen late season fizzles in the past? Repeatedly? I think the Souix will be there in the end. They seem to start slow some years and really start to peak at the end of the season. It's way to early to make any predictions on how things will go but it's a good start for the Gophs to this point! ole
Looked to me that the Gophs were stuffed with TURKEY!!Michigan ran em all over the place, speed and physical. I think they could of used a little blue line to blue line sprint warm-up before the game.Seems every time a Gophers team (and I mean all of them) gets ranked, It falls on it's face.ole
