snoozebutton
http://www.jsonline.com/sports/packers/37127204.htmlAll but Winston Moss (linebackers coach) and Joe Whitt (quality control coach) get the ax. I don't think those coaches were completely to blame for the poor showing on the defense this last season, Thompson has to shoulder some of the blame for not bringing in the right personnel. I suppose though, with a new defensive coordinator, he'd want his own staff.

Cooter
Snooze - I saw that on the news Monday, was a long list of staff that got the ax. They should improve overall next year, they are in a good spot to do so. How many games did they lose this year by less than 4 points? We have coaching changes, wonder what kind of player changes we'll see...
snoozebutton
A lot of those close games we lost in the last minutes mainly because we couldn't get a stop when we needed to.I heard that Mike Nolan was a candidate for DC but he's primarily a 3-4 guy and we don't have the personnel to run that. You need bigger DE's and I don't think Kampman would hold up. Jenkins might be okay on the other side though. Maybe Thompson's got his eye on someone in free agency. At any rate, I hope they focus more on the defensive side in this years draft, especially the early rounds whatever scheme they end up running. We've got the 9th overall pick plus an extra 3rd rounder from the Jets. Should be interesting!!!
snoozebutton
Dom Capers is Green Bays new defensive coordinator.http://www.jsonline.com/sports/packers/37807024.html"Though Capers is known for using the 3-4 defense, he also ran a 4-3 in Jacksonville under coach Tom Coughlin and a hybrid 3-4/4-3 under Miami coach Nick Saban and New England coach Bill Belichick. Capers spent the past year as special assistant/secondary under Belichick, but the two did not mesh well and Capers was allowed to pursue other work." snoozebutton
Looks like Mike Trgovac is our new defensive line coach. Here's a little something I found on him (he was with the Packers under Ray Rhodes in 1999.)"Trgovac served as the defensive line coach for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1995-1998. In 1998, the Eagles finished third in the NFL in sack percentage and first overall against the pass. Trgovac's 1995 line recorded an NFL-best 42.5 sacks. He spent the 1999 season with the Green Bay Packers before joining the Washington Redskins for two seasons. He helped guide a Redskins defense that ranked fourth in the NFL and first in the NFC in 2000.Following the 2001 season, Trgovac joined the Carolina Panthers. He was promoted to defensive coordinator for the 2003 season. Since Trgovac joined Carolina in 2002, the Panthers rank fifth in total yards allowed, trailing only Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Denver. They are also sixth in first downs allowed and rushing yards allowed per attempt, ninth in rushing yards allowed per game and 10th in third down efficiency. After turning down a contract offer from the Panthers, Trgovac informed head coach John Fox and general manager Marty Hurney that he was leaving the team."
