Craig Plummer
What color Jigs do you guys use in lakes that have no CrawFish or Shad? Fairly clear lake... I was trying to think about matching the hatch, Maybe a Green Pumpkin with Pumpkin Trailer?

Craig Plummer
Is that supposed to "match" a certain forage?Do you guys always like a rattle on your jig?
Deitz Dittrich
CP- I only throw Black/Blue in stained water.. I would say that 75% of my jigs are some sort of Pumpkin color.. I would also say that 75% also have a rattle.. did well on the pig today, caught alot of nice fish on em.
st.crioxfishin
I like green, black/blue/purple, and brown all terrain jigs in clear water. I would also think you would be hard pressed to find a lake that didn't have crawfish in it, I could be wrong though..
Craig Plummer
I was throwing a Black/Purple Jig W/ rattle tipped with a blue Chigger Craw in stained water and caught my first bass ever using a jig. What I did differantly this time than usual is keep contact with the jig at all time, keeping the line tight. Im gonna keep at it and hopefully there will be more too come. Thanks Everyone for the Good Information!~CP
TonkaBass
Another huge tip on fishing jigs is to maintain contact with the bottom.
ocf1
Tonkabass, I'd have to disagree with that, swimming jigs you dont want them to touch the bottom unless your letting a fish get a better look at.
hhguide
yup I disgree to I do well at current points ripping a jig and swimming a jig back.
TonkaBass
Ok, you got me. Let me clarify. When deep water bass fishing, which is now. It is more times than not, very important to keep the jig in contact with the bottom. I'm not saying you have to drag it, or never loose contact with the bottom. I'm just saying that in my experience a jig fished in contact with the bottom will outfish a guy hitting random water columns. better???Ocf1, I agree, I was talking about flipping jigs though.
