moviking
I just returned mine to the factory, and they sent me a new Maxxum. I had nothing but trouble with the darn thing. I must say Minn Kota was VERY GOOD TO DEAL WITH.
MinnesotaMongo
I just used mine for the first time and loved it. The only thing, I would like to rig something so it could hang in the palm of my "reeling" hand - so I could adjust with one hand. Gotta work on that one.I too have fat uncoordinated feet - so CP is very nice.
Mike Wallace
Have clips mounted on all of my rods (casting and spinning) and can make adjustments mid cast as I am palming my reel. Once you have it positioned correctly so that you can palm your reel and use your pointer finger to make adjustments - you can do all the boat control during the cast and while reeling.I have never used it on a lanyard or on my wrist, so I don't know how it works there.I will not buy another trolling motor without it. Either that or just hold it, but then I tend to spend time looking for where I set it down.
PerchJerker
I've thought about getting a copilot for years but I've never felt that I'd use it enough (or at all) to be worthwhile. I for one like the foot pedal and don't have any issues controlling the motor or the speed with it. I have a young kid who's learning how to throw spinnerbaits, etc. and I usually put him on the front deck and bring the foot pedal back to the rear platform. When I fish in the bow it's usually with a stand-up butt seat so I am close to my electronics as well as the motor. I leave the foot pedal attached and sitting out on the bow all the time, it's very quick and convenient. Foot pedal all the way if you ask me
