I was looking through the other player's picks and noticed Meaney had a lot more than 214 points unless I'm seeing something incorrectly. I wonder how many other scores have been calculated wrong before this????

It looks like Meaney has been starting Kyle Busch for the last few weeks even though he's already maxed out his total starts (9). It shows the points that Busch got, but they don't count towards the total since he's already been started the max number of times.

jwhjr I believe you are correct. I saw that too, but was assuming since there were points behind Busch's name that Meaney had used him for the 9th time counting this week. The points make sense understanding how that works now.

Hopefully none!! Yahoo is pretty good, a couple get by me every now and then but they get resolved by the next week.

I am not too sure I understand the points yet. I got points for Vickers but I thought he did not finish. and why are the scores not round numbers. I am just a rookie but I have been learning a ton about NASCAR this year.

Here are the rules for scoring. There are a number of ways a driver can receive points.

Quote:

Each driver can receive a maximum of 90 fantasy points during each race. The top 45 finishers receive points, with the winning driver getting the maximum 90, and other drivers receiving 2 fewer points for every spot they finish behind the leader (e.g., the second-place driver gets 88 points, the third-place driver gets 86).

You receive the total points earned by all active drivers on your team provided that they haven't already been active in nine races (see the Maximum Starts section for more information).

Bonus points are awarded to each of the drivers with the 4 best starting positions after qualifying. The top qualifier receives 10 bonus points, the second receives 5, the third receives 3 and the fourth receives 1. Because qualifying for Daytona 500 is broken up over 2 days, these bonus points are not awarded for the Daytona 500.

An additional 10 bonus points are awarded to each driver who leads at least 1 lap during a race. The driver leading the most laps during a race also earns another 10 bonus points. To earn these bonus points for your fantasy team, a driver must be on your team and active during the race.

If a race is officially canceled, no fantasy team receives any points for that race. All other scoring rules stay the same. If qualifying or a race is delayed or postponed, no points are awarded until it's completed. If qualifying is canceled and the starting grid is determined by Nextel Cup points standings, no qualifying bonus points are awarded.

The race points you see once a race is official is just the average fantasy point total per race. Brian Vickers received 21 points in the last race, but his average points per race is 51.58

You recieved points for Vickers as he placed in the race. You recieve so many points for a 1st place finish and approx 2 less for each position back from 1st.

Everybody in the race gets points. Vickers finished in 42nd place, led at least a lap, qualified 3rd. So he gets 8 points for the finish, ten points for leading at least one lap, and 3 points for qualifying 3rd.

If you seeing the points with decimals (58.55) the page you see when you click on your team has already advanced to the next race. This week it will be the Subway 400. If it says Subway 400 it will show the drivers statistics to help aid in the choosing of the drivers for that race. The points listed are the drivers average points per race.
