Bobb-o
Nature Vision has recently announced the acquisition of Marcum Technologies. Dunno too much aboot the deal at the present time, what are your guys thoughts on this?
Northlander
I think it will only help improve both lines. I cant wait to see what they come up with for next ice season.

Huey
Can we still have Aqua View vs Marcum camera debates?

fishuhalik
that's depressing, I think sonicrunch is right. I'm guessing the marcum cameras will go the way of the dino, but their flashers will stay
PerchPounder
Im not too sure how this will all play out but IMO the Marcum cameras are far superior to the aqua-vu cameras and they will remain two different lines with the Marcums being the high end and Aqua-vus for the low to mid range. As far a flashers go I might just have to hold off on my possible upgrade to see what becomes of this. I don't see the existing units being dropped just yet and this might just become the best thing for both companies.
Chode2235
Yeah its pretty obvious why they would want to buy Marcum, NV just hasn't been able to get going on the sonar game. They'll probably keep the two brands, and just focus them a little better.Should be interesting. Hopefully they keep all the people and R&D, and didn't just buy a name. I dont know why they would, as it would be a waste of money, but sillier things have happened.
Central Bassman
I think the Marcum name will only be around for a few more year and then everything will switch over to NV names. This is part of business they couldn't compete with them so they need to take them over, thats how it works. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. Kyle Sandberg
I don't see this happenin as far as legaly. Wouldn't that cause a monopoly in that line of products (underwater cameras)?Overall, I think that its gonna mean a better camera if it can happen. Lotwfisher
I just have a feeling the prices wont come down as much and but I do believe that with the engineers from both companies working together they can prolly come out with something good. Or it can turn out like shimano and loomis and nothing really changed between the companies.
snoozebutton
Very seldom do mergers and or acquisitions benefit the consumer.
