mattrd
I've been waiting for my new gear to come lately and was disappointed when I got home yesterday and nothing was there. But after being in my place for 5min. here comes the Fed Ex truck! I got my new Abu Revo Premeir and Fenwick Elite Tech Flipping Stick! Now I'm just waiting for my new St. Criox's to come in and I'm pretty much set!

mattrd
The Revo's are nice! I have 2 of the Revo STX's and now the Premier. I can't wait to use it, it is very light(6 ounces). I still might order a couple more before season starts. I still have to go buy a bunch of tackle as well. If the weather stays decent this weekend I might go try my luck.(in Iowa)
RiverBassGuy
Great post, I have been contemplating buying a Revo. Anyone have enough experience with the Revo to say how it compares to a comparable priced shimano, Daiwa, or Quantum? Not trying to highjack this thread. Just curious about comparisons people have. Thanks
swampbuck
I have switched all of my baitcasters to the Revos, I used 5-6 last year, they have the best drag system I have ever used on a baitcaster, it is smoother than a spinning reel! As my tournament partner said after using them last year, "these make you wanna take a dump on all your other reels!" They are also very durable. definatly worth the money. the other items I just picked up atre those colored reel grips, I got several different colors so I can visually pick out what rod I want off the deck! They feel great on the reel handles.
RK
Hiya - I had a couple boxes of Christmas in April from Pure Fishing last night too. A couple muskie reels, about 10 miles of line (I think I got a little carried away), a couple Revos, and a whole lotta Gulp! Alive. As far as the Revos go, they ARE very very good reels. I'd rank them as very competitive with comparable or even higher priced models from other brands. One thing I have heard consistently from guys I know who use them a lot is that in terms of bang for the buck, either get the straight Revo S, or the Revo STX. The Revo SX isn't much more reel than the Revo S for the extra $$, and the magnetic cast control on the SX doesn't gain you much without the upgraded pinion and bearing configuration on the STX.... For what that's worth. The most noticeable thing about the Revos to me is how compact they are. They seem like tiny little reels (the remind me of Shimano Scorpion 1000s) but they have tremendous torque. Cheers,Rob Kimm

Hula_Grub
I wish I had more to compare it to, but I just got my first "high-end" reel last year. It's a Revo STX.

mattrd
I just really like the Revo's. It seems when ever we get new reels into the store I always got to grab one and throw it on a rod to see how it feels in my hands So I always get to compare some of the different companies products. I've always had good luck with Abu Garcia equipment so I went with the Revo's(not to mention I can get them at a good price ) To me all the companies are really starting to improve all of their products, so that just gets a person that much more excited to see what's in store for the future of fishing tackle!
