LOL-- spent last weekend doing a seminar at Gander mtn.. this weekend I was at Joes also talking open water... My boss asked me if I could ship something for him up north where I lived..

my answer...

"I'd love to, but. .... I still have my auger and Otter in my bed of my truck."

it didn't sneak up on me... I knew it was happening, more denial than anything.

Happens every year for me...

My "opening day" is thursday (bowfishing) and I just came to the conclusion that 2 of 4 sections of my floor are rotten and need to be replaced. If I am going to the trouble of replacing 2 of them I might as well do all of the remodeling. It was my weekend with my little girl so there was no boat work done this weekend. If I play my cards right, mabe I will be fishing in the boat in a couple three weeks.

Just wonderfull how the seasons can "sneek" up on a guy. Seams to me when Ice Fishing first came up I was not "ready" for that either. Even though I put the boat away in november.

Got my boat out and got it ready two weeks ago. Had it out twice last weekend and should have taken it out today. I noticed you said you had one Saturday to make it. I'm hitting the Croix this Saturday for opener. I have to make sure I'm ready for that every year.

I had the ice gear put away a couple of weeks ago after my last time out. I finished getting the boat ready this weekend. I installed a trolling motor and new fishfinder. I'm all set for the opener.

The funniest thing is being at Cabela's, Gander, or Reeds the day or two before opener. The last minute guys come blazing through the doors looking like they haven't slept in days. They walk twice as fast, talk twice as fast, and resemble a drug addict who has been on a month long bender! No offense! LOL

It didn't sneak up on me but I have been impatiently waiting for a nice weekend to work on the boat, I gave up and worked on it this weekend. Installed the new GPS and put together the new planer boards that i won't be using till summer... still need to replace the anchor that I found on Big Stone but the fish gods took on Red whistle.gif that thing has had some serious soak time.
