DC Blues

[DARK30]

Been here in DC since last saturday and finally got to wet a line last night. Fished with a great river rat named "Jonnycat" here on the Potomac River. He put me on three nice Blues up to 40# and three big Stripers going 36-38 inches....all within sight of George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate.

We caught several other smaller Blues and Channels as the tide rose and forced water to flow upstream. We're using fresh cut herring for bait. Heres the best part...We're fishng out of a 12' aluminum jon boat with a 3hp johnson!....no room for a big net..just big fish

It don't get much better than it did last night boys! We'll fish tonight again and I'll be on the plane back tomorrow morning. I'm already planning a return trip and Jonnycat is wanting to come up and fish the Red for a few Sumos and the Minnesota for a few Mudeyes.

Well folks, I guess I have seen it all now.

I just ran across some video footage of a guy cat fishing from a hot tub, while pouring him self a beer and smoking a STOOGIE!. I think he was naked as well .

I know this might be old hat to some, but I was LMAO, but yet it was still cool.

I checked for any DC footage and found none.

Ok, finally got time to get the vids up. all I can say is, This guy was a treat to fish with! We did not end up getting fish the second night but we sure had fun getting bait....I'll post that later. It was tough getting good video in this situation and I had no camera but you'll get the idea...

Them cast nets are cool but I still can not get the hang of tossing them. sure wish they were ok to use so I could get more practice. :-)
