Steve Foss
Darn, you guys got open water and waterfowl and everything. We're lagging behind last year up here. Just to stay in the game, here are some hooded mergansers from exactly one year ago today on the Shagawa River. Gonna be another week or two before we see hoodies this year, I think. I'm REALLY starting to chomp at the bit.
mmeyer
Way to stay in the game Steve!! Those are really nice. I'm going to have to get in my camo and lay out by the river I guess.
JR777
Beautiful! I like the widescreen crop. Looks like were headed back to the white down here though.
Dave S
yes, the weather has begun here. The Merganser's that I've been seeing are the Common Merganser. Wished my pics turned out better, but they were 80 yards away with my POS PAS Kodak. Some day I'll have something worth sharing.
finnbay
Steve - I'm with ya buddy! This is the only hoodie shot I have that's worth lookin' at. Taken last year on Birch Lake. 35 inches of ice today - gonna be awhile I'm afraid!
Dbl
Any open water will just fill up with the 8" of snow forecast for Monday. I'm heading somewhere warm again, this really is lousy! Oh, nice shots guys.
mountaindew
Steve, Those are great! Down here, the smaller ponds are open, but the lakes here still frozen. We still have a bit to go yet..
MN Shutterbug
Gee guys, thanks for sharing antique photos. Although they are nice shots, we're still gong to have to dock you a couple points, due to their age. They're predicting up to 9 inches here, by tomorrow evening. However, if we had got 4 inches everytime they predicted 4 - 8 inches, we would have had a lot of snow this winter. I believe the most we got at any one time was probably 3 inches. The last time they predicted 4 to 8, we got a dusting. Let's see if we luck out again.
Steve Foss
If we're docking points due to age, you're old enough to get points of your own docked, mister.

Hey, I was referring to the age of the photos, not your age.

MN Shutterbug
Just joking, Steve. I'm just jealous cause I don't have any good pictures from a year ago. Heck, I didn't even have a good camera a year ago.

LeeKen
If you turn your monitor so that the right side is toward the north, you can actually see spring coming to Detroit Lakes!
