I should have said “where can you pick it up”. I have not purchased a fishing mag for over a year now. With a site like this, who needs them. Plus, I like video poker when I am doing my business grin.gif. It never get old ;).

What's in that caused the start of this post? confused.gif

Its always fun to see what new twist can be put on catching catfish. I see they got a mudeye article in the regular magazine for April/May...I even noticed some familiar faces and names in the master anglersgrin.gif

Is it Dtro, leave it to Dtro to promote him self grin.gif.

He did get the big'un of last year and it should be known.

I got to pick this issue up "now".

Again, leaving Hanson out, is it Hanson?

I agree Steve.

Basic, fundamental catfishing techniques can be universally applied from coast to coast for the most part.

The technique starts to vary a bit per species, and starts to vary even more depending on the body of water.

The best information on Minnesota catfishing is no doubt going to be found amongst Minnesota catfishers, which the In-Fish boys just happen to be. ;\)

However, these guys are always on the cutting edge of something; whether its a specific drifting technique, rigging technique, bobber technique, planer board technique, or who knows what will be the next "in" thing.

I still am just scratching my head figuring out how to run planer boards off the back of an anchored boat in current without snagging something fierce underwater. I can only imagine how fun that is when you dial it in however. Thats whats fun about the Catfish In-Sider issue IMO.

Gotta master the basics first and most of us have a hard time keeping up with that considering seasonal movements and patterns, and river level and flow fluctuations. You gotta fish where the fish are, after that, its simple. grin.gif

Yeppers, and sometimes these cutting edge techniques actually catch fish instead of tackle buyers and magazine subscribers. grin.gifgrin.gif

Picked up the 2008 Guide Catfish In-Sider today at Borders in Woodbury. Great article titled "Presentation on Plane" which is a trolling system for lakes and reservoirs. Looks like it will work slick on the St Croix. I have to go pick up a couple of planner boards and I am in business - as soon as the dam ice gets off the river.
