I was watching Nascar Now and they were talking about Toyota and Gibbs Racing. There talking that Toyota is lucky to have his team to make the other toyota drivers better.

I know that toyota has came along ways in the last few years, but do you think they have a shot for a title.

I would guess that at best this season, your looking at a few wins. Maybe in 2-3 years they may be a title contender.

They will win this year and by next year they will be a contender if they aren't this year. The Gibbs organization is a title ready team and it has more to do with them than Toyota, but they will be light years better than last year and next year they will be better yet. They've shown everywhere they've raced that they are ready willing and able to put the resources into winning, and now they have a team that can do it. Last year's struggles were only part being new and the other part was they were with a bunch of teams that were nothing too. Combine them with a top tier team like Gibbs and look out!

My question is, will Toyota force Gibbs to share his good info about the COT cars with scrub teams like MWR?

I think Toyota can be a contender this year BTW.

JGR will compete for wins for sure. By the time the chase starts, if they are in it, who knows what can happen. You could give JGR a Ford and they'd would still have a chance to win any given day.

That already started last year. MW openly credited his improvement in the team the last quarter of last year to JGR's help and they weren't even done with Chevy yet then...

Anybody that makes the chase is a contender, look at Bowyer last year.

Although unlikely, three of Gibbs top drivers have the skill to make the chase, the question will be, will they have the car after 25 COT races to contend.

Well said TNFL. I guess we will have to see if the testing they did on these cars will fit the style of driving that the Gibbs drivers have.

I'm really intersted in seeing how things go the first five to ten race's and see how smoke is taking to the change.

Best guess smoke and shrub get into it by the fifth race.

I think toyota will win at least a couple races this year, that being JGR of course. As for championship contenders, maybe, they did look good during speedweeks in Daytona. I guess time can only tell. I agree that toyota will want the different teams to share info to make toyota as a whole better, but IMO this is competition and they shouldn't be sharing info. Maybe in the off season, but definately not during the season. Just my opinion.

Too difficult to tell if the 'yodas will be contenders after just one race....a plate race at that. Like is being said, let's wait about 10 races. Then we should have a better measuring stick.

How many Chevys did Hamlin beat on Thursday. Kyle Bush had the fastest car a Daytona. They were the strongest on the dyno. Just face it, Toyota spent more money on there R and D those motors got more power.

I'll take your place, because Im now a NASACR fan because of TOYOTA. I'll admit my original motive was to watch and see how mad the racists and rednecks got if Yota won. Now I actually like watching the races and drama.
