As an ex professional ball player, I am not surprised to see what is going on. What I'm surprised about is how long it has taken for it to come to this. Steroids have always been illegal unless prescribed by a physician, and no injury sustained in baseball would be indicated for use on any anabolic steroids' label. Many of these roids were taken simultaneously to get different types of affects on the body. Winstrol for faster muscle movement, Deca Durabolin for stronger muscles at the same time, you get the drift. HGH is a relatively new steroid, but very potent and useful to get ahead if one desired. One of the most popular ones is plain old Testosterone; it's amazing how much improvement one can have in their strength and natural ability over on off season while taking this. I've seen it first hand and steroids were rampant in the minor leagues when I was playing in the mid 90's and it wasn't even against the rules to use them, but it was against the law. Football and Basketball are strict against the use of these drugs, and until MLB is allowed to take random and unannounced drug tests for all illegal substances, it won't change. Ridiculously enough, the players union is the most powerful employee union in the country, and it has too much say in what MLB can and can't do. If they can't stop the rampant abuse of drugs themselves, then someone needs to step in and make some rules for them. I mean come on, players knew who whas doing them and what was going on for decades and the players union fought tooth and nail so that MLB could not test. It hasn't even been that long that they have been able to test for narcotics. Enough players that didn't take them got sick and tired of seeing ones that did, get better and make more money by cheating and word finally got out. There needs to be HARSH punishment for those that took them, and I sincerely hope that the law comes after them for drug charges like all the other users of pot, cocaine, heroin and such in the country; they're no different.

I always wonder how far I would have made it if I took them like all the other chumps I was playing with. Good thing I'm deathly fearful of needles and would never purposefully stick one in my arse, what a wuss huh. That's about all I have to say, and personally professional sports make me pretty sick now with the way the athletes act, and what they expect. They put their pants on just like the rest of us and don't deserve any better treatment but it's our own fault for idolizing them and paying too much money to watch them. It is just ridiculous now; $25,000,000 a year to play a sport, just insane. Teachers should get paid more than any professional athlete or actor because what they do shapes the future of our nation. The priorities in our nation are just waaaaaay off.

You ever see her when she was in her prime about 10-12 years ago? Yowzer. I got a picture with her backstage when she was touring with George Strait. Hottie. Now, not so much. \:\( She's lived a rough life after she had her 15 minutes of fame and she looks like it. But back during those 15 minutes she was a looker!

The worse thing he ever did was sue McName for defamation, now Roger's attorneys are begging him to drop the suit before Brian reveals more of Roger's dark secrets to the press.

Filing claims syringes will test positive for Clemens' DNA

Lester Munson, ESPNews

Tests of syringes and other steroid paraphernalia that trainer Brian McNamee submitted to federal agents will test positive for Roger Clemens' DNA, according to a brief filed in court by McNamee's lawyers.

Although there has been considerable speculation about the materials McNamee submitted to federal agent Jeff Novitzky in January, his attorneys had refused to discuss them publicly until the filing of the brief.

The brief, in support of McNamee's attempt to obtain an early dismissal of a defamation case Clemens filed against him or have the case moved to New York, was filed in court on Tuesday.

The paraphernalia, including syringes and bloodied gauze pads, "will test positive for Clemens's DNA," the brief asserts. "Once the DNA results are revealed, there will be little dispute about who is telling the truth."

E-mail and voice mail messages left Thursday for Clemens' lead attorney, Rusty Hardin, and two other lawyers in Hardin's office were not immediately returned.

At the time the existence of the evidence became public, Clemens' lawyers claimed it was "manufactured."

McNamee's attorney, Richard Emery, said McNamee kept the items -- dating to 2000 or 2001 -- because he "had this inkling and gut feeling that he couldn't trust Roger and better keep something to protect himself in the future."

Clemens claims in his lawsuit that McNamee defamed him with false allegations that McNamee injected Clemens with HGH and steroids, as part of his testimony to Congress and in the Mitchell report on the use of performance-enhancing drugs in baseball.

The case originally was filed in Texas state court and was shifted in February to the U.S. District Court in Houston.

McNamee wants the case dismissed or transferred from Houston to New York. Emery argues that federal agents and a congressional committee have determined that McNamee has been truthful.

Emery's defense also relies heavily on statements from Clemens' former teammates Andy Pettitte and Chuck Knoblauch that confirmed what McNamee said about them and their use of performance-enhancing drugs.

It is anticipated that U.S. District Judge Keith P. Ellison in Houston will rule on McNamee's motions in August or September.

McNamee's lawyers first tried to dismiss the case in early March. When Clemens' lawyers responded on May 27, they added a new claim of "intentional infliction of emotional distress" and two additional claims of defamation.

In the latest filing, McNamee's lawyers said New York has the most interest in this lawsuit and that many of the potential witnesses reside in New York. McNamee claims no defamation took place and that it would be a burden for him to defend the case in Texas. According to the filing, McNamee earned only about $3,000 between January and June of this year.

McNamee also claims that he is immune from defamation because he made his comments to former Sen. George Mitchell, who led baseball's probe into performance-enhancing drug use, at the behest of federal prosecutors.

I'm confused. Will this "evidence" even matter since it never went through the proper chain of command? Seems a little fishy to me...
