Redwing Eagles

Well we had a great day down in Redwing today. There were quite a few eagles around although most of them kept there distance. My buddy and I met up with X for lunch (I don't care what you guys say, he's a great guy! ). I got a bunch of eagle shots and lots of ducks. Here are the first few that went through PP.

This was through the fog so it's a little, well, foggy

Gotta tell ya, you done better than I did today. Curse that fog on that first one. That's a nice action shot. I didn't even see anything that exciting today. Nice flights shots too, especially the last one. Good going, Mike.

Well done. The first one is terrific, I bet if you processed it again with the local contrast USM technique you'd be able to reduce the fog.

Cheryl, could you say that in English please. I have no idea what that is. I'll have to check into that.

It's a post processing technique that people use to reduce haze in images. It's using particular settings in the Unsharp Mask tool in Photoshop or Elements. If you google Local Contrast USM or Local Contrast Unsharp Mask you'll find a couple of links that go through it step by step and explain it far better than I could.

Unsharp mask at 20/50/0, are the favored settings. Mike these still show an uncalibrated color space as well. That will cut down on pop.

Thats cool. I think I liked the fog a little better. Adds a touch to the pic. Coming in for the kill.
