so haaad
Gophs are now rated 19th in recruiting by Rivals. Signing day is close, let's hope they all sign...
Pointer_Pride
Gophers just recieved a commitment switch from Keanon Cooper from Texas Tech. He's a 4 star safety and looks to be a difference maker. This guy bumps the gophers up to 16th and 3rd in the Big Ten. The countdown to signing day begins! HUNT&FISH
Nice!! Those D problems are getting shorter by the minute. tomorrow afternoon can not come quick enough. Get those pens ready and check mark the Minnesota box!!!!
Scott M
That is insane. I heard about the commit. Up to #3...not bad for 1-11. If everybody signs their John Hancock and plays to their potential, then geez, I guess this Brewster guy is worth something after all....they said he can recruit. No more losses to DII schools (yak yak yak )?

so haaad
Gophers have all seven of their 4-star recruits signed. Big, big day for Brewster and Gopher Nation.Brilliant PR and future recruiting move by signing Ryan Grant, John Nance and Shady Salamon.
fishyguy
You are correct. Shady and Nance did not help them land Floyd this year but you have to have a pipeline to schools like Cretin and EP. Those schools will turn out more legit prospects every year then any other school while also developing a special player like Floyd once in a while. The race for Seantrel Henderson at Cretin is going to be interesting to watch over the next couple of years.
IFallsRon
Brewster and his staff couldn't coach Mason's leftovers so what the heck are they gonna do with new talent? Football at the U has become a financial black hole.
ozzie
He had the talent for Mason's offense maybe....but he didn't have the right players to play in the spread offense.....I think in the next 3 years this team will be good!!
gopher_nation
Brewster has been coach for one season and already people say he can't do it. I'd like to see how well the naysayers would have coached last years team.

Football is one of three sports at the U of M that remain on the plus side, the other two being men's basketball and men's hockey.I realize there will always be the doubters about Gopher football, but I would love to see our program succeed and it looks like Brewster is doing some great things to turn the program around. so haaad
Looks like Brewster doesn't plan on just sitting back and admiring his 2008 recruiting class. He just got a solid verbal from one of the top QB's in the country for 2009 by getting a solid verbal from Rivals 100 (57) quarterback Moses Alipate. Alipate is a 6'5" QB from Bloomington Jefferson and one of the top players in the state for 2009.
