Recommended fish house batteries?

I have a 6.5x12 Ice Castle and I need a good deep cycle battery that will last me a long time. I only run one 60W bulb and a 12V tv every once and a while. Anybody have any good suggestions on what to buy? I've heard good things about the Optima deep-cycle but they are also very expensive

well i have had my batterys for 4 years now and they still seem to work just fine and they are just cheep dura starts but it all depends on what you want to spend

I use the ones from Fleet and they work just fine. You can probably buy two, for the price of an optima. I take one out of my boat and use it, then by a new one in the spring. Welcome to the best fishing site ever.

For around $65 you can get a Stowaway from NAPA. I have a couple and they are a very good battery!

I use my boats trolling motor batteries. I usually get 3 years out of them, when using them in the winter, and the summer. I use interstate marine batteries.

Be wary of companies that spend large amounts of money on marketing and advertising campaigns.

I have bought and used heavy duty deep-cycle Wal Mart batteries for many years and they give very, very good service at an attractive price. About $69 for the all-yellow one.

I second Fleet Farm batters cheap and work great never had a problem with them!!!

I have never used my big yellow wallymart battery on the ice but I do have 2 in my boat that will run my 70lb 24volt trolling motor for 2 days with out a recharge.

for what you are doing, fleet farm batteries are the ticket

anybody have any issues with those wal-mart or fleet farm batteries burning out after a year or two? how about the re-charge how long can i expect to charge a battery once its dead?

FYI - I used a friends mega-tron deep cycle over the weekend, and it powered my 15" flat screen dvd combo for 3 movies and still had plenty of juice when I brought it back for recharging
