HELLO EVERYONE,

i am mark almquist from champlin ,mn , i'm married to a wonderful

wife of 23 years , gina and i also have 2 boys that are 14 and 12.

kids are the best things in life and hope that i still can say that later in life.

i am a cnc machinist for 28 years , i love to fish as often as i can, of course ! yes, i am JimAlm's younger brother which also makes me LisaTealz brother-in-law . not that theres anything wrong with that.

i have been a anonymous user for awhile now, but felt the need to reply about some things i've read online.

i have been a boat owner for 23 years, used to fish Mille Lacs every weekend with brothers , dad or my wife. politics put that

away for me. my brothers friend once asked if i was as crazy about fishing as he was, jim said NO!, he is worse, he WILL go fishing alone!

i have also archery hunted for 30 years this year, i don't give it as much as i use to because of fall fishing. i have a great life long memory to share with mt brother keith , the evening of

Oct.26,1991 my brother and i both shot bucks from stand , his being a nicer 8pt. and mine a basket 9pt. this evening was topped off by Kirby Puckett hitting the game 6 home run while we stood around camp and celebrated our evening. a night i will always remember.

my wife and i bought a 1990 harley fxsts- springer softail a couple of years ago, i have ridden for most of my adult life, since 15. since weve owned it she made the reservations last year

in jan. to go to sturgis . we went, and it was a blast riding in the Black Hills which is 2nd to none .

finnaly i want to thank crappie keith and dark cloud for firing up the interest in the jig making and painting again in me . i have made my own molds for different jigs abd painting for about

25 years now along with about a dozen ice fishing rods.

thanks everyone for letting me part of your online family,

mark

p.s. i will get some pictures later

Okay, here we go. Its time for me to tell abit about myself. I've been quietly reading the forums!

I live in Nebraska. I know. I know. "What the heck???" Hee hee I got introduced to this by a fellow FM'er...Learned alot about fishing and etc! :-)

Anyways back to myself. I'm a single mama of two lil daredevils who love to be outside all the time! I have hard time getting them to come back in the house!!!! I'd rather that than trying to get them OUT of the house! hee hee I used to go fishing but that was YRS AGO...I have always been interested in fishing and hunting but never had the opportunity to learn more or do....now I do cuz of my fellow FM'er who introduced me to this. :-) Thanksies!

Now I will go back to quietly reading the forums and adding my 2 cents whenever I see fit! :-)

Happy Easter!

Wow, what an interesting topic. I just blew about two hours reading these bios!! It was pretty neat to put some background to the screen names. I guess I will throw mine in as well.

My name is Clint and I am 39ish and currently live in Moorhead MN. I grew up in and around the Pelican Rapids and Lake Lida area. I graduated from MSU (Moorhead) in 1991/1992 with a degree in Political Science. I then spent some time in Washington D.C. as a legislative aide before returning to MN. (Long story why I returned....perhaps some other time)

After returning to MN I went back to school and received a criminal justice degree and ended up going to Law Enforcement school in Alexandra MN. I soon was hired by the Moorhead Police Department where I have been for the past 12 years. My wife's name is Kendra and she is a nurse at a local hospital. We have been married for only four years and do not have any children. (this is both our first marriage and hopefully the last....I guess we were just late bloomers) We share a common passion for fishing, although she enjoys the summer fishing much more than the winter fishing. I also enjoy deer hunting, both riffle and bow, and pretty much anything outdoors related. We vacation each summer on Lake Vermilion near Ely MN. Gods Country in my opinion!

I dont recall how I came across this HSOforum but I have been a member for about six years. I find myself checking it daily for anything new or interesting. Ive had the chance to meet a few other members in-person and its been a very good experience. As I said earlier, its been very interesting learning of other people's backgrounds as its nice to put it with the screen name.

My screen name is a old high school nickname. When I was in jr. high school my pastor couldn't remember my name and often called me Clifford. I dont know why! Being from a small town the name stuck and eventually morphed into Cliffy. I have not been able to get rid of it...so I embrace it. Trust me, I have been called much worse. Nice to meet all of you. Take care.

Cliffy

OK here is my bio:

Name: Patrick Orent aka lakerunner.

I'll admit, I'm a transplant. I grew up in Lower MI around the Cadillac/Traverse City areas. I went to shool at Michigan Tech and spent 8 wonderful years there. Finally left with a B.S. in Forestry, a B.S. in Business Admin and nearly completed my MS in Quantitative Forestry. The time spent there was awesome!

Before going to college, myself and a friend ran our own guide service on the Big and Little Manistee Rivers which are blue-ribbon trout streams. We would start fishing King salmon in the river around August 1st--some salmon would run with the Skamaia steelhead (a summer run strain) and fish kings until the first wave of stealhead, then lake run browns in mid-november and then fish the 2nd run of stealhead and all winter for the ones that would winter-over in the river, start again in March fishing spring runs until mid-may. Take a month or two off and start again.

Back in Houghton--I met my wife Jodi who is from Houghton. We got married in 2002 and moved back south of the "bridge" too Cadillac. Work was not going the best and she wanted to be closer to home so we moved here in the summer of 2004. Our son, Carter was 6 months old when we made the move.

We both are really enjoying Eveleth--lots of great friends and things that we enjoy doing. For her primarily snomobiling; for me anything that has to do with the outdooors--hunting, fishing, camping, snomobiling, etc. I work as a procurement forester for Ainsworth at the Cook OSB mill (formally Potlatch) and Jodi works for Frecinius Dialysis in Eveleth covering also in Duluth, Hibbing, GR, and Ashland.

I have gotten Carter hooked on the outdoors. He spent all of last year fishing with me (ok, usually riding in the boat), he shot his 1st grouse last fall after he got made that Dad missed the last 4, and this year was is first for ice-fishing. I can't go out by myself unless my wife is prepared to put up with a day-long fuss as he gets really upset when he can't go.

We still make lots of trips to the UP, so if anyone wants to make a trip and do some fishing, hunting, or backcountry snomobiling, give me a ring.

Hi! My name is Eric Bjorlin I live in the twin cities. I grew up on a lake just west of the twin cities, which I ruled with my 1942 3-1/2 Evinrude and trusty American Water Spaniel, “The Unsinkable Molly Brown.” I’m married to my best friend 12 years now. I have three young fishing buddies, all boys, ages 10, 10, and 8. My wife is a longtime coronary critical care nurse, now doing heart procedures. I married right. Rose is great; even ice fishes without a shelter. Oh, and her family owns the slough all the roosters escape to from the hunting preserve...dreamy, huh?

Age: 45

Fish: Anything, walleyes, panfish, stream trout, Lake Trout, on the ice, in Canada, the Great Lakes, or the ocean.

Hunt: Grouse, pheasants, waterfowl, and deer, often in your areas, Lisa.

Official Family Mushroom: Morel.

Since I liked the outdoors, I studied geology and limnology, before I realized my passion was the aesthetics of nature. I earned my degree from The College of Visual Arts in Saint Paul, and worked as an illustrator (watercolors, pastels, woodcuts, airbrush, cartoons, abstract…anything) for fifteen years for clients like Wells Fargo, General Mills, and 3M, while always painting wildlife on the side. In 2002, I quit illustrating and fulfilled my dream of becoming a full-time fine artist. Art should come from the heart, so I often paint fishing and hunting scenes, from my perspective few experiences are finer.

I became aware of FM after I was invited to the portable modification get together at Art Barbarians, an FM sponsor. I met some great FM’ers there: Matt J, Rick P, Joel N, and many others.

I’ll pick my poisons, too: Red wines and Makers Mark. But I’ll have a Captain Morgan with ya’ Hanson.
