Dbl
Eagle's and duck's from Saturday. Met up with Mike (buzzsaw) and a few folks this morning and managed a few shots. The eagles where not real cooperative but ducks are always plentiful! #1 Cold duck! #2 This Goldeneye ate at least 12 fish while we were there. #3 #4 #5 The mallards ate well also. #6 The only eagle sequence of the morning. These are just a bit larger. #7 #8 A couple of flight shots. #9 I've got a lot more but this should give you guys an idea of what you should find on your eagle adventure. finnbay
Great shots Dan! You guys had more light than we did today. Really captured the iridescense on the heads well!
MN Shutterbug
Great shots, Dan. I especially like the mallard portrait. You really captured the detail, on that one. Even though technically, not quite as perfect, I'm quite fond of the goldeneye with the fish heading down his gullet. The timing on the shot was perfect. Steve Foss
Good stuff, Dan. The first mallard image totally captures the mood of C-C-C-COLD! That one is my favorite. His nose is even running.

Dbl
Thanks all, about 4 hours of cold! XT I don't think there is a way to get a shot of those Goldeneyes without loosing either shadow detail (black head no color) or loosing some whites. Those were shot at -1 stop under and it required some work to get the head to stand out. You could do a blend in PS and I may try that but those buggers are tough to meter. Here is the companion to the first mallard shot, just as cold female.

WifeKidsandDog
Great shots -- I love the eagles but I think the mallard pics are beautiful, esp Miss Mallard.
buzzsaw
Nice job, Dan! Way to get down on their level! The Goldeneye shots are great, definitely a species that a person won't have very many chances to get that close to!
