You will really like what you can do to preserve your food with the Food sealer. When you want to seal any game or fish that has some liquid with it try to freeze it for a couple of hours so it will make a better air tight seal. I find that I really love the ability to vacuum pack quart jars so see if it is possible with yours. I will make 12 quarts of spaghetti sauce and leave about a inch from the top and freeze and the stuff is as fresh as the day I made it.

It will last a year as a pretty good rule. If you get most of the liquid out and seal it up well I've eaten venison from 2+ years ago and it tasted great. I don't know how I let that one stay hidden, but we found it.

Everything should be fine for a year or more.

I have had pheasants sealed for over a year. Works better then putting them in a freezer bag that's for sure.

Sometimes you have to watch the bags because somehow they like to come unsealed when in the freezer for awhile.
