Trade idea?

How about trading Santana for Brad Hawpe and Garrett Atkins. Maybe we could get a couple of minors as well.

Some people might see this trade as bad for the Rockies but they have NO PROBLEM filling in position players -- even some like Hawpe and Atkins.

Others say we can't trade Santana -- we HAVE to. We can't keep everyone so he is the most likely player on the team to be moved. Like the Viola deal I guess.

Just wondering what you guys think of that.

Thanks

Hit

I see the brewers released Corey Koske,or are going to be. If he was healthy, and willing to take a pay cut, I would take him back on 3rd, before putting Cuddy there. With Cuddies arm, we need him in the out field!

IMO, it would be stupid to trade away their best pitcher/ one of the league's best pitchers. I think there has to be better ways to improve. Whether it be a different trade or the twins always productive farm system. I didn't watch as much this year as most years and don't know what they have coming up, but imo DON'T TRADE YOUR BEST PLAYER.

Ely --

I hear what you are saying, but Smilin' Carl will not open his wallet, and if you listen to Sid, we should all feel sorry for him.

There is NOTHING in the farm system that can hit a ball. Our only option is to trade him or let him go for nothing via free agency.

dahit,

Who is Sid?

Also me being out of state all summer I didn't get the normal twins exposure and info I'm used to. Thats too bad there is nothing in the farm system.

If they do trade him, I hope they get a good starting pitcher plus another quality player/ prospects.

Oh -- That is Sid Hartman -- the guy that thinks he knows everything at the Star/Tribune.

The farm system has a good amount of top pitching prospects but Zippo on the position players. That is why we need hitters for Santana and pitching prospects.

Quite the guy Sid is. A couple of weeks back he said that if Hunter signs with another team the Twins will: (A)Have a player on the current roster play CF, (B) make a trade that will bring a CF to the club, © Promote a player from the minor leagues, or (D) Sign a free agent to play CF. Are you sure about that Sid(Captain Obvious)? I thought I heard that the Twins were going to be selling raffle tickets to the general public and the winner would play in CF.

Santana isn't nearly as effective as he used to be and the numbers show that. I'd bet he'll go sometime next year before the July trading deadline. He'd become Bert Bonser in Colorado.

We've been so spoiled by having one of the best pitchers in baseball at the front of our rotation for the past few years that the guy slips from "best" to "one of the best" for a couple of months & people start calling him Bonser? Brilliant.

Although I'm sure that there are lots of GMs out there that will pause now that they "know" Santana isn't "nearly as effective as he used to be". Perhaps the Twins will be able to afford this less "effective" version of Santana after all, since he's now on Bonser's plane. smirk.gif Heck, pocket change should do it!

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
