french_lake_kid
What is your favorite decoy brand/company? Mine is Green Head all the way! It's all I have besides some cheap Carry Light goose shells.
Scott M
Whatever's cheapest, I gotta admit. Eventually I'll upgrade but from what I see in the stores, GHG is the way to be.
MuskyBug85
for geese i really like dave smiths, for ducks the GHG are hard to beat for plastics. Jonah
livintofish
Avery GHG all the way oversized floaters, great, full body mallards, awesome, and muskybug have you hunted with the goose FFDs....amazing but very expensive. I hunted with some guys that had a full spread of FFDs and we put out 4-5 doz, I thought they were just a gimic but in the field from 20-30 feet away I seriiously could not tell them for a live honk. Another good reason to support Avery is they are a huge sponsor for DU which draws a lot of people in to raffle donate a lot of $ to the ducks....and geese! nate larson
Puddle ducks Field and Floaters=GHGDiver floaters=G&H or Herter's (Go with Herter's if you worry about your decoys getting shot, they won't sink.)Geese Field and Floaters=Big Foot or GHGIf you are hard on your decoys I would say go with G&H. The paint on GHG decoys seems to chip a little easier.
BoxMN
Ditto Nate. Almost all our divers and many mallards are G&H, and they last, they wrap well, andthey look good. THe GHG look great... the first year or maybe two. But they just don't hold up. Now if you buy the fancy bags to put them in singly, I am sure they will. The GHG geese do look nice, but I have cracked heads/necks and ended up screwing them on, as the locking just doesn't work so great. I like Herters, but try wrapping them when ice are on the 7200's and you either some huge paws or gloves with sandpaper on them. I would get "lifesize" if I got Herters again. The are good for strings though. My useless two cents...

tearin' lips
Field Goose Shells==GHG Field Goose Full Bodies==GHG Water Mallard==GHG Hot Buys Water Diver==GHG Water Goose==GHG Yeah I guess that makes me a greenhead gear guy too. I love the FFD elites!! They are one expensive decoys, but they definately help put the birds at your feet. I also have all my GHG full body honkers on motion bases, which is incredible. As for H20 I have 2 sets of gang rigged 'bills at 12 birds per gang rig set. Plus another 4 dozen loose, 'bills, cans, and ring necks to throw around. What can I say I love everything about the GHG decoys

livintofish
A quick side note for anyone that has or is planning to buy FFds or flocked heads......put socks over the heads to preserve the flocking when banging those dek bags around....and make sure the socks are black, use white and you will have all kinds of white lint that embeds itself into the flocking. lanyard
Stuck on the Herters, but I bought them before Cabela's owned them. Uncertain if there have been quality changes. The strings can be paint, but I'm on about 7 years with my mallard 72s and they're finally needing a touch-up.They've been shot, strapped down, sat on, kicked, rolled over by the trailer, drug through 1/4 mile blood coughing CRP and bog. Hunted everywhere from LOTW to Windom. And of course the guy that says 'throw them to me and I'll drop them in the bag' has hands wayyyyyy too soft to be catching a 72 from 20+ yards. The_Duckslayer
G&H I have some magnum swivel heads that I have been hunting with for more than 15 years and they still look good. Used to hump them over a mile in the decoy bag twice a week so they have had their share of beating! Just wish my waders would last that long! Although I have gotten 5 years out of the last pair! I guess not trudging through the woods with the waders on helps! Used to have to go on long hikes with them as well. Now they are only uesd for getting the decoys in and out. Have a good one and N Joy the Hunt././Jimbo
jumboperch
I have to agree with lanyard on this one. Herders are far and away the best decoy you can purchase. They hold up to a ton of abuse and look great for years.
randmcnally
Greenhead Gear for geese. Very good detail in the paint. They do hold up very good if you take a little extra time to take care of them. The 4 and 6 slotted bags Avery makes work very good for storing and transporting. I have found out that whether it is GHG, Hardcore, FA Brand, Dave Smiths's etc. you will want to bag them if you want them to last. Only decoy I have seen that is almost in destructible is the big foots but they really have outdated themselves in the realism category.
mille lacs muskie bum
ghg looks good, for about a week until the paint and flocking falls off. I prefer bigfoots or even better final approach.

I've got 3 dozen Life Size Series Mallards that haven't lost a bit of paint in 3 years. But those "Hot Buys" are notorious for paint chipping. tearin' lips
I don't understand why people have so much problems with the GHG decoys. I have been accumulating my GHG duck decoys for four years and the ones that are the oldest look just as good as the new ones that I bought this year. And I ABUSE them! I hunt 3-4 times per week. They are thrown in the boat, tossed around in decoys bags. They are really great decoys. Same with goose decoys. My flocking has held up and the paint is not coming off yet. I have hunted over these for the same amount of time and again I ABUSE them!!!
