Lets talk Cornhuskers!!!

Yeah HuskerBen and BassNSpear, what a story book ending to Nebraska leaving the Big "8"...vs OU. Definately some nostalgia going on there. A win would make it all that much better, they certainly have the talent available to blow them out provided the right 'Skers show up to play. Fiesta Bowl vs the "whatever" bowl would also be a nice notch in the Pelini brothers' belt, so to speak.

How about those h-back passes last Friday? I am dying to see that in person. Haven't been to a Husker game since the last Big 12 Championship, believe it or not. I am definately getting jacked for it.

Yep, I hear you. I think NU will pull out all the stops and make it worth their while. At least I would hope so.

In my last post, I said I hadn't been to a Husker game since the last Big 12 Championship...I wasn't there last year, I was there in KC the last time the 'Skers played OU for the 12 Title. Great time.

Been home about an hour. That is a long drive from the "D". Great game. Blackshirts were locked on, just gave up a couple of plays that I don't think any team in the country could have stopped. Fumbles came at inopportune moments. OU is tough, 'Skers have nothing to be ashamed of.

Agreed. I can take a loss to OU a lot better than some other team. They really are just that good. And, as a long time Husker fan, I'm kinda used to losing to OU.

The boys need to work on ball security. Still. Hasn't changed in the 25 or so years I've been watching the Huskers. The Huskers always seem to drop the ball at really bad times. And Martinez showed that he is a Freshman - the interception in the endzone was a classic frosh move. Tried to make something happen when the best thing was just to get rid of the ball. That will get better.

Oh, well. Good year for the Big Red. 10 wins, with the possibility for another, is nothing to sneeze at.

Their ball security issues have been around for years. It's kind of strange that they don't spend more time on it in practice. As for Taylor and his interception in the endzone, you can clearly see who he is going for, Brandon Kinnie. All any team has to do in a passing situation is lock down on Kinnie and Taylor gets flustered. He needs to learn how to read through his checks to be able to find the open guys, not to mention the O-line needs to do a lot better job on their pass protection. OU did exactly what Texas did with Taylor by not rushing up the field and giving him escape routes. Good discipline by them.

Bo Po did a terrible coaching job on that game. NU should have won by 20 pts. Should have pulled Martinez in the 2nd and put Lee in. Had a good running game with Rex and Roy. Should have let his senior QB come in and pass. At least he doesn't stare his one receiver down and he knows how to check down. Love the "Shirts" game though. Carl did a great job, Watson not so much.

The Blackshirts did do a great job. There really isn't any defense in the nation that can stop Oklahoma's offense once they get in sync with each other. Good luck to UCONN in the bowl game. Although it is Oklahoma and a BCS game, so you never know what team for them is going to show up. Lee should have come in, maybe not in the 2nd quarter but midway through the 3rd for sure. I really hope Watson gets the head coach job at Vanderbilt so we can find ourselves a new O-coordinator that will make the offense into what it can and should be with the amount of talent that they have. Hopefully Niles can get back for the bowl game this year. He tore it up last year out there. Let's see if he can do it again.

So it looks like the Huskers have an opportunity to beat the same team three times in a year... I just hope that they can get up for the game and beat the tar out of the Huskies again. I could see the Big Red phoning it in for this game, but I don't think Bo's gonna let that happen.

TM showed that he was a freshman. He should have been throwing the ball away, instead of trying ot make a play IMO. There was a few times we were in field goal range, but was saked and took us out of it.

Like Husker Ben said, i was upset about the lost, but it was giving to OKALAHOMA beucsae of the way we played. Glad they won it, and i hope we can go in and BLOW UP THE BIG 10 NEXT YEAR!

Watson doesn't seem to call the best offensive plays to help his "frosh" quarterback out though. Their pass protection against OU was horendous. They didn't look like they could have blocked a high school team that night.

What's with all the rumors about Taylor wanting to maybe transfer? I can't seem to find anything legitimate to believe. Maybe someone here has some more info a little closer to the source.

Haven't heard anything new for a while now. Sounds like we have to put up with Watson for another season. Afraid of the Big 10 with him still around! I am looking forward to a season without the Texas Crybabies at every corner though.

Last game of the season. What is your predictions? Bowl season has been a bore so far. Looking forward to the games on tomorrow, should be a little better, or at least more interesting. I figure tonights game will be a repeat of the September game.

I think the Huskers will win this one. I just hope they aren't feeling too overconfident, because Washington will be coming to play. The score depends on whether Martinez is back to 100%. I would love to see him healthy again, and hopefully bust off a couple long runs again, but we'll see. If he's not up to par, then I hope to see plenty of Burkhead in the Wildcat. He has impressed me as much as anyone else on the team this year.

I also really hope that Alex Henery gets a chance at a long one tonight. His last game as a Husker before he starts making serious money in the NFL.

I think it'll probably be closer this time than last time, and I think ol' Jake Locker will be better tonight than last time. But I still see the Huskers rolling. Healthy Martinez = 35-13, NU. Cody Green and the Rexcat = 24-17 NU. Go Big Red!

I've been a Husker fan for way too long to put money on them. What a stinker of a game. They pretty much slept through the whole thing. It was like they didn't want to be there. In fact, I'm pretty sure the O-Line wasn't there...

The Huskers need to eliminate the penalties. I think the four losses this year were due mainly to the penalties. The Huskers beat themselves as much as the other teams beat them. Seriously, this bugs me more than the horrible ball security problems they've had all year.

I hope Watson gets that HC job at Miami-Ohio. I hope Martinez grows up a bit. I hope the O-Line figures out that, over the course of a season, they need to get better instead of worse. Or else, next season could get pretty rough.

Get rid of Watson, kick Carl's a**, Teach your defense to "tackle" instead of shoulder bumping, and give the Baby Quarterback a good spanking. There, that should about do it. Gotta change something or the Big 10 will kick our butts. Still gotta say: GO BIG RED!!!!!!!!

Bo needs to boot Watson out the door, go get Mangino for his OC and sit down and have a long talk with Cotton on how to keep your offensive linemen from letting everyone on the defense into your backfield when it's a passing play. The offensive line was again horrible in this game. We can get some of the best offensive line recruits but if we can't teach them that letting the defensive player through is a bad thing, we're always going to stink. Whatever happened to throwing a few screens to the backs and receivers that EVERY other team in the world is doing? The offense that Watson calls is so predictable. He runs the same 7-8 players every game. Time for Bo to get a clue and be the head coach he was hired to be.

I don't think that there is any way that Watson keeps his job after that holiday day debacle.

I also agree with the Cotton asessment. Something there obviously needs changed. Our offensive line was terrible.

Was it just me, or did Martinez look like a scared little child the entire game? It just seems that ever since he first got hurt back in October, he's been really skiddish. It has been hard to watch. Hopefully Bo can coach him up this offseason.

GBR!

Yeah, he did look scared. I would be too, if my o-line had been replaced with cardboard cutouts. Give him a decent line that can protect him, and he'll be better.
