Fall colors on the North Shore

We are back visiting my favorite destination...Lake Superior North Shore. We have been coming up for the fall colors for several years. What a nasty day it was today! Plenty of rain and fog. Not the best weather for photography!! I did manage to get a few shots this afternoon. I will post more as the weekend progresses. With the poor light conditions, both photos were taken at ISO 1600 on a Canon 30D.

Tamron 17-50mm, 1/30 sec at f6.3

Canon 70-200, 1/125 sec at f2.8

Both images post processed with Noise Ninja and Photoshop CS2

As promised, here are a few more of the photos from this past weekend. Once the rain, fog and wind passed, it turned out to be a great weekend.

I like the oak leaves with the hillside slightly out of focus in the background. The gravel road with colored canopy brings back a lot of memories. Good shots!

The road shot is really very nice. Looks like good color up there.
