CNYFrank
Not so good at the usual spot . . . arrived around 7 . . . fish had turned off about an hour earlier. Larry was in the preacher's box and nothing but one bump. The boys and I took a break around 8:30 and went for wings and beer. Came back about an hour later (well maybe two hours later) and went to Vassal's point . . . where a guy had pulled out 4 earlier around 6 . . .managed 4 hits with two landed. Ghost Frenzy and b and s Challenger. Challenger was almost completely down the fish's mouth. Only one other fish caught . . .weeds still a problem. Was tough to cast against the wind last night. I think I hear my deer stand calling.
Thunderman
Quote: That's a sweet score Todd I was in a tree looking for deer tonight and only saw some more squirrels I'm looking to make an Oneida trip with my brother in late November along with my Quinte trip when bow season closes and do some night trolling! I've got a feeling it will be another extended fall with some warm weather through December again and lots of great walleye fishing ahead. John, sounds good you will have to get a hold of Timmy and he can give you my cell# I should be able to put you on some fish farely quick .I'm looking foward to meeting you also hopefully we can do a ice fishing get together some where with our crew .I have ICE on the brain right now you know how that gets. CNY Tim
Todd and I went out in the boat tonight and we feel we should have been out there early. We saw a boat coming in at the same time we were going out with a limit of eyes and another one of Todd's friends had a couple of fish that were short and two keepers. We stayed in the canal and I had a huge smallie whack the DT but didn't get him to come in much before he spit the hook, it was a dandy though. Todd banged to quick eyes and we thought things were gonna heat up but they were shutting down and it was probably a bit before 7 p.m.... We ventured out on the lake and marked fish by bright light but couldn't get them to go and then I called Frank to see if he was doing anything at the bar, and other than a couple of fish it was dead over there, so we went over to the rockpile and started casting and I had a nice bump and didn't hook up and then I had one on and got it to the boat and he got off and that was my night, oh well. Todd caught 3 more right there on the firecracker K-Grub and as you can see they like that one just as much as the black and silver. Way to go Todd! If we do another boat trip I think it's day time walleyes from here on in. 5" K-Grub, Black and silver on these two eyes... Close up of a small eye that hit the Firecracker 5" K-Grub Here's a nice 20" that sucked the fircracker right down.. Broadside...
Thunderman
Steve, when you come up bring the ice fishing apparel last night was a little chilly .I think daytime feeding is in the making for the eyes trolling and jigging HAIR.The SHAD population is growing strong and if they stay in these tributaries its going to be tough at night unless the wind blows that seems to be the trigger.Talk to ya soon bro p.s. timmy brought your goodys they are safe and sound
CNYFrank
quick trip last night . . .you can tell when it will s*ck! . . .but the wings were good! No go tonight . . .in to bed early and on stand again early. Let a doe go this morning at 20 yds because she was looking behind her . . . she was faking. CNY Tim
Frank - You didn't miss anything tonight other than the 25 smallies we whacked in 45 minutes off the pile nothing specail alot of 1.5 to 2 pounders but the bass action was steady on the grubs. We went into the barge canal around 5 ish and fished our tails off in there and Todd hooked a slammer that he lost at the boat and I caught this 19", we had a few bumps on the jigs but other than a smally in the canal we didn't hook much. Tried to go back out on the pile but the NW wind was little rough, we didn't fish to long after that, marked a ton of bait and big fish but they just weren't having it. Todd picked up this nice burbot on a white bucktail... The lone eye boated Todd I hope the truck thing ain't to expensive. Tomorrow I'll be cleaning out the van of gear and getting her ready for the big run south to get junior...

Schniblees has been on fire along with the canal. Todd called and banged 4 on a bucktail in quick succeession, didn't even have to move, there not smacking it either, just there... Good job Todd! Thunderman
Fished the canal last night it took about a hour to find the waldos and when I did it was pretty good. The lure of choice was Blk-silver #9 count down I caught about a dozen fish. The water level is down and the water is clear I think this rain will stir things up and the fishing will be good for the next few days I think a 10# mono leader is wise when the water clears up.Last night the water was clear and most of the fish were caught by the rear treble so they are following it. cnypanfisher
Hey all hope you had a great summer!!! Been shorefishing in my backyard and my bro-in laws point as well, some of you may have parked there last winter. Been on-off so far, last 2 days windy as all heck really. Timmy give me a e-mail at [email protected] we need to chat about prices this winter if you are still in the marcum business. Also would be great if you tried off our point 1 time or 2, only 15 more minutes down the road and no crowds and you can leave your waders home. Pizza shop delivers, the garlic wings are best. I'm off, think cold. TO Tim
Thunderman
Fished the canal last night again released about 20 waldos. They were coming through like gang busters they were hitting just about anything you could throw at them as long as you could get it down about 4 to 7 ft.Water level came back up a little bit and stired up.Steve are you coming up this weekend? Bring some warm clothes it will be cold.
CNYFrank
Todd . . . thanks for the call . . . after dinner and some makeup time, made it out to the area. (Her recommendation to go . . . got to go when they are biting!) Who am I to say no to a woman! I got there around 8:30 and first cast on the Frenzy and bang . . .one in the net. That was some current there going out to the lake!!! Anyway . . . they were not there like earlier, so put on a husky jerk threw to the near bridge piling and banged another one. Got a little cold and decided enough after an hour, had been there long enough and someone was in the Tahoe who wanted to warm me up . . . as I said earlier, who am I to say no to a woman! I figured the fish had moved further east when I say guys on the far side run that direction about 50 yds. Sneibs was active but only saw one fish landed . . . while I was observing. Lots of minnows, both areas.
Thunderman
Frank, glad to here you could make it out for a few cast I must have just missed you I left about 8:15.It slowed down so I went home I think the wind played the roll in the feeding habit once it stopped they stopped. salmonseeker2
Timmy, and to all, I have a question from Missy, yes that one!! She called and asked me "When Does Ice Fishing Start"...something for a safty thing... anyway, my laymen answer was when there is ice..... Now I'm not a Ice fishing Genious, haven't qualified for the championship or anything, but does this sound right?? .... if any and all that know Missy please respond and clarify when "Ice Fishing" Starts that would sure help her out! Tight lines!!
CNY Tim
Dec 11th right Kyle Technically Jimmy is right, sorry Miss. Generally heavy set guys like us wait for 4" of good black ice before venturing out. There are some safety items that you should have with you. Ice Picks - To pull yourself up and out the ice if you go through. Seat Cushion with 50' of rope in case you have to save some one. Creepers if the ice is glare and there's no snow on top for traction Hang a whistle off your lanyard to signal for help if your alone and have fallen in or head lamp to signal after dark. Cell phone Spare clothes in your vehicle to change into. Safety first aid kit in your sled for cuts. Early ice never fish alone!!!

CNY Tim
Todd and I went to the canal to fish a bit, we got let go a bit early from work so why not do a little fishing. We struckout in the canal although there were a few fish caught after a couple of hours in a couple of spots we headed for the bar and I picked up these 3. Todd landed one and had a few on that got down in the weeds and got off. It was misty rain pretty much the hour we were there with no wind nobody else was doing much except for Todd and I Hail the Rapala Long Cast Minnow, the fish were well away from shore again.. Too bad the freshwater version was discontinued...
