Bass fishing in the dark...

Anyone ever have any luck bassin' in the dark? What works for you? I know Cyberfish had done this a few weeks ago and caught some. I plan on getting up very early tomorrow morn and heading to the lake tossing my Jr. Bronzeye frog and spinnerbait with a friend. Will the full moon phase we are in make a difference?

When fishing at night Ive had best luck with buzz baits and most recently chatterbaits. The constant noise and vibration helps the fish track and find your bait in the dark. Several issues back In-fisherman had a good article on night fishing for bass. Might be worth checking out.

I've done more night fishing this year than ever before. I go out just before sundown and mark some good spots like sunken island weed edges with marker bouies so I can find them easily later on. I've done really well with big creature baits texas rigged with a heavy weight so I can feel it better. Throw them around weed edges. When this stops working, I switch to a buzzbait which has been fantastic this year. As for colors, it depends what direction the bass will be looking at it from. Bass will be looking down at plastics on the bottom so I want to use either a semi light color or one with some metalic flake in it to reflect any available light. For topwater baits I want to use black to create a silouette against the moonlit sky. I think bass are active all through the night as I've caught fish right before leaving the lake at 4AM. These are concutions I've come to and may not be what other people have experienced, but I just thought I put my 2 cent in.

At my buddies cabin at night and after a few beers we head down to the dock and spot light bass in the shallows. Along with them are bullheads and even walleyes. I'm talking 2 feet of water. Any ways, I think they are more active in the night, just sucks casting into trees:)
