Nothing has been said about party hunting. If you fill a tag during archery in a lottery, are you done, or can you party hunt during the firearms season????

The party hunting laws have not been changed.

I do the majority of my hunting in 442 and it was nice to take a doe with the bow then sit back and wait for Mr. Big. I will miss that part of the license unless I see a doe in a lottery area of course!

What conerns me is the fact that the DNR is attempting to RAISE the deer population.

I realize we have had some easy winters but what if we raise the population for 3 years and then get a real hard winter?? You can argue all you want about global warming but the potential for severe winters still exists.

Also, what about CWD? The more deer we have, it seems like we will be more likely to find it in some wild deer in this state.

Thoughts??

I know I took that survey & read all that info months ago when it came out. I just can't understand why they want to raise the population 25% in 213. There were too many deer & the farmers were complaining, they got thinned down a little & now they want the population to go up? That doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but it's the way it is. There's not as many deer as there was two years ago, but there's still so many more deer than when I was growing up that it doesn't even compare.
