archer59
I took a look at my one of my deep cycles I had in the basement all winter and when I opened the caps I did not see any water. I added distilled water and am charging it at 2 amps. Is there any hope that it will recover? Thanks,Nick
0 Whoaru99
Might work but, IMO, the capacity is likely reduced quite a a bit.
0 IFallsRon
I've heard of bringing back a dry battery with new electrolyte but the strength and future life will likely be limited.

0 Surface Tension
Charge it up and see what happens. Batteries plates exposed to air and or not kept charged will suffer from. sulfation build-up. There is a charger that claims to recover dead batteries from sulfation called a pulse charger. Downside is you could buy 10 batteries for what they cost. Then theres the question, do they really work and how good?

0 Whoaru99
My charger also has this equalization function, but I've never tried to resurrect a battery. I've only used the function as periodic/routine maintenance (every 20 to 50 discharge cycles) according to the instructions.I really like my early model MinnKota MK 330 charger. It has this feature and also pushbutton select of 4 different battery types.Dunno why they discontinued them. I can only guess reliability issues or cost of manufacture vs margin. Hope it doesn't die for a long time...
