MAN LAW?????

Would I be breaking some sort of MAN LAW if I were to mount can holders on my boat. As a bass guy I do more fishing than drinking although I do get a little parched now and then grin.gif. But it seems a lot of beers get kicked over. I would assume #1 MAN LAW is no spilling beer! What do you think.

I have can holders built into by boat... However.. I fish 6 days a week in the summer..and as goofy as this sounds. Its usually a Coke Zero sitting in it, not a beer.. Dont get me wrong, I enjoy a barly pop as much if not more than the next guy... But in my opinion.. I enjoy fishing enough that I save the beer for when I get home.

I usually do not fish opening weekend... and part of the reason is, I am scared by all the drinking and boating...(go ahead and call me a wuss... I have a good/great excuse for not fishing the opener this year... I drew a turkey tag in WI. and will be doing my best to get one of them instead of an Eye.

I don't fish opener either.. since it is not BASS bass opener... and I have had my fill of crappie fishing!

I enjoy beer too don't get me wrong.. but I am really against any drinking on the water. Too scary. I only bring big bottles of water on the water! If you use Gatorade bottles filled with ice and water.. you can keep the orange lids screwed on and you don't need cup holders! smile.gif Let them roll on the floor!

I'd get the can holders. I bought those plastic cheapos from Cabela's or Gander the flip style ones. Well they work for cans, but bottled water will not fit. So I need to look for better ones or ones that can flex or something. Not too worried about it though. I don't have any carpet and the beer would be drank fast grin.gif for fear of warm beer. I'm German to but I hate warm beer. That's got to be an American man law in the works.

It depends on who that cupholder is for. If you have small children who will be drinking pop in the boat then a cup holder is a wise investment and no man law broken. But generally in my case it's water or Gatorade so they have screw on tops....no need for a cup holder.

Dietz, I as well have passed on the last couple of amature days ah I mean openers. I enjoy many things about the sport of fishing but fighting crowds at 5:00 am at the launch in no longer one of them.

I did however make it out about 5:00 last night on a little metro lake that contains walleyes but does not get a whole lot of walleye pressure. I noticed the ramp had only a few vehicles and decided what the heck. I had a new locator on the bow and needed to test in out and while on the water see whats biting. I hit a few panfish to get the blood flowing.

I then hit the area of the lake where historically I have had some success on the walleyes. I was not dis-appointed and after the second or third toss with a nice weedless jig and fathead I hit some eyes. They were for the most part in the 15" class but I did notice the boat near me landed a nice 25-27" pig walleye. To my surprise the fish was kept, oh well each to his own but I would have got the pig back in to swim and perhaps spawn another day.

These walleye were definatly what I would call "weed" walleye vs the traditional structure or shallows you find eyes on opener. I also had a few bass so it turned out a good time on the water.

My mistake was going to a friends dock through thick weeds. My tell tail is now shooting a weak stream of water so I may need to replace pump or impeller.

I ordered some off hsolist. they look like a poor man's wallet (skinny) and they mount flat against a wall and fold down for easy use. I ordered 2 pairs, so I think i'll mount 3 of them and save the 4th for when one breaks. I still think the best cup holder for your beer is your hand or your stomach, but the hand is also my rod (and reel) holder.
