Boat didnt load even on trailer?

I've got an ezloader roller trailer. The first few times I loaded my boat without any problems. It went on perfectly straight. Then this last time, when I loaded my boat it was way off center. I backed it back off and thought I had it on straight. I didnt notice that it was crooked till I went to tie it down. It's still sitting on the trailer a bit off.

One thing that I did do.. After I unloaded my boat, I parked my truck in a parallel parking spot. Rather than trying to weasle the trailer in straight, I got out and slid it by hand. While sliding it I bumped one of the rollers. Did that mess it up? Or is just a bad load onto the trailer?

I have a Lund with an EZLoader trailer and they are junk. They never load correctly, I had to install the side bunks to make it stay on somewhat straight at times, I powerload it, so I really don't care if it's on perfectly straight or not. It usually doesn't matter much if its on perfect or not.

I would make sure your hull is supported correctly by the rollers, that's what they are intended for, support.

Make sure you don't have the trailer too far in the water. A good rule of thumb is to just have the very back rollers in the water, everything else should be visible. Powerloading also helps in my opinion.

Kylersk was it a different ramp you loaded at this time than previous? If so I wouldn't be suprised if you had an uneven ramp compared to previous place. If you drive back your tailer and look at the fenders if they aren't equal out of the water when you load the boat stand off to one side or another that should help to even you out. Otherwise you can try to bounce when out of the water. But with bigger boats that is a pain in the butt.

I would hardly doubt that by just sliding the trailer you messed up the rollers unless you are superman . If you are that concerned get your tape measure out. Measure from the side rails of the boat trailer out to the rollers they should be equal from each side. It would probably be worth checking anyhow. If they are off next time you unload the boat. I would have your wrenchs ready unload the boat and check your measurements loose up the clamps and slide them then tighten them up and you are ready to go.

Assuming your trailer is set up okay and it probably is, two things will make a boat load crooked on a roller trailer.

1. Having the trailer too deep in the water. Experiment to see what works, but generally you only want the back set of rollers or two to be barely covered with water.

2. Having the trailer uneven from side-to-side, you really need both sides to be level or even to load straight.

Thanks! Yes, I was at a different landing. Now that I think about it, I think I may have had the trailer too deep.

Like they said above... Only get the back rollers wet, and make sure trailer is level in water. Water should come up to the same spot on both sides (ie. rear lights or wheel wellsshould have same amount of water on them each time). Some ramps I can't put trailer in straight, needs to be a little to one side or the other to make it level. Good luck, and practice practice practice.

The uneven ramps are a little tough. And no one likes it when you go down the middle of a double ramp. But if I'm trailering my boat any distance I'll do it.
