Both caught up in the BWCAW. 20"er last May and a 16"er thru the ice less than a month ago.

those are some realy nice fish.

Katman- coaster brookies are from lake superior. if the fish came from there it is a coaster. since these didnt come from superior they arent coasters. The coasters suffered a huge decline due to logging, overfishing and other causes. They are very rare.

JPZ- I wish I would have caught more of mine on a fly. I do lots of flyfishing, and have caught plenty of big fish on flies. (tops is a 45 inch pike) . of those pics I think only 2 were caught on a flyrod.

Those are some real nice fish you guys got. Ive been fishing the midway this week and caught 2 but they were only a 6 incher and an 8 incher. Breakfast for the ones you guys caught. I also noticed the ones i caught were a lot lighter colored then the ones in your pics. Anyone know why?

Wow! You guys have some nice brookies! That 27" is unreal . Anything over 18" is a trophy in my book.

Here is one of mine 23.5 inches.

Big Musk, that'd be a sweet Splake in your hands! check out the Caudal fin(tail), noticed how its forked. Brookies have square tails.

I was about to say it looked more like a hybrid than a brookie. those nipegon brookies are coasters.
