GPS Wiring

gunflint

Question

Last year I installed my battery forward and ran 14 gauge wires back for the depth finder and navigation lights. (Separate wires for each) Would it be alright to splice into the nav light wiring and run the splice to a GPS? Could I run them both at the same time or would I get interference and have to run the GPS on it's own batteries while running the nav lights? Thanks

I dont think you would get interference from nav lights. I would put about a 3 amp fuse in for the gps. Manufacturer should have a recommended amp for this application.
