Is this chip compatible with the lowrance Ifinder H2O? Is there a web address that has all the lakes that are included on this chip? Is it true that Lowrances IFinder H2O does not read all Navionics 07 hotmaps? Thanks

As far as I know, it is completely compatible with the H20. I have heard of a few issues with handheld compatibility, but they were product and software specific, and have been addressed.

I just tested the chart in my Ifinder Pro just to be sure...Man, even in B&W that detail on LOTW is sweet!!!

... and I'll piggy-back a few more questions onto that one from fishingfrenzy:

Will the new data on the US side of LOTW still have all of the same navigational aids, markers, buoys, and suggested routes, etc. that the PremNorth07 chip has?

Is the Canadian LOTW data the same as the PremNorth07 chip?

Are any other border waters done in 1' on the US side, or are they the same as on the PremNorth07 chip?

What is Sakakawea's format?

What is Lac Seul's format?

Are there other 5-foot contour (low-def) maps on this chip, too?

I just "prebought" this chip last saturday at Marine General here in Duluth.

What I was told is that you are getting a portion of the 2007 premium North chip (see listing of MN lakes on Navionics site plus all of ND lakes on North chip), plus a few of the Ontario lakes on the 2007 premium canadian chip (again, see navionics site for list), and lastly you are getting the previously unreleased mapping of the US waters of LOTW in 1' contours.

I was about 4 hours from buying the 2007 North chip, when i saw Jeff announce this last friday. This chip is perfect for me as I hardly ever fish south of Mille Lacs (it does have the high def map of Pool 4 and Pepin tho, nice).....my only wish would have been for it to contain the high def map of Manitou included in the Ontario selection.

The canadian side of LOTW, and all of Rainy will be the same as on the 2007 North chip.

I am just psyched to get this in the new GlobalMap 5200 and hit the water!!! cool.gif

Darn it I wish I didn't have chips already that have all these lakes. Last year I bought the Canadian chip for Lac Seul know that is include. This is a great chip for the money.

Just a question Jeff has Lac Seul been remapped or will it be the same as the one on the Canadian chip already.

Sounds good..About the Lake of the Woods, how detailed is the Canadian side?

Canadian Data is the same we have used on our Marine Charts forever (some of you will remember, or still use, our Small charts CA182S and CA183S). This data has been determined to be the most accurate for Canadian waters. It has also been recently updated.

Also, our survey data crosses into Canada in a number or areas. I'll try to find out where and post it shortly.

Yes, full nav data. I'm not certain about suggested routes. I'll check.

Yes, same as last years and this years data for Canada, but updated.

The data for the rest of the product is exactly the same as the '07 product where there is overlap (IE: North MN, ND). But you get the entire Gold file of lake Superior (also updated).

Sakakawea is our newest and best 1' HD data.

The Lac Seul map included is the same data as last year's and this years HMP Canada product.

Yes, there are approx 2000 additional DNR/Public source water bodies included with full nav/fishing data.

You also get all of our HD lakes for North MN (Leech, Mille Lacs, Gull, Vermillion, etc....)

Sorry for the delay!

Jeff,

...and I'll piggy back one more question on two the previous two posters.

What type of detail can we find on this new chip for Rainy Lake?

Like2Fish

Again, the best and most current we have. The official govt datasets (the old CA183S). Both US and Canadian waters are covered.

The same. What are your thoughts on the usefullness of the Lac Seul map? I have heard mostly "good value" but also have heard "mixed reports".

Can you zoom in further on this than you can on the Hot Maps Premium '07? Last week I just bought the premium and it has good contours but it doesn't really do any good if you can't zoom in close.

You will get 1/8nm anyhow. Some of the newer Lowrance units are allowing overzoom to 1/64 nm, and I hear there are software patches that will allow some pre-'07 units the additional overzoom.

    • Truly sorry to hear that duffman! I know that feeling.  Keep the good memories
    • Chamois passed away this weekend a couple days short of her 13th bday. What a great dog to hang out with here at home and on distant adventures. Gonna miss ya big time my little big girl.
    • Sounds pretty sweet, alright. I will check them out, thanks.
    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
    • We have bought a new boat, which we will be picking up this spring. It is an Alumacraft Competitor 165 sport with a 90 horse Yamaha motor. I will be buying and installing a trolling motor,  wondering if I can get some recommendations on what pound thrust I will want for this boat?  Also, I will be selling my old boat, is there a good way to determine the value on an older boat ( mid-80's with a 75 horse 2-stroke  Mariner motor)  I will appreciate any help with these questions.
