The Chemist
CWMN: Don't you mean, "If you can't do the time, don't do the crime"? This pass deal is a bit confusing. From what I can tell it is a lifetime pass? So thus it covers past present and future violations?
Guest
You pay the fee TO get evaluated only, no guarantee you will get in. They keep the cash, no matter what, it is treated as a filing fee. They can keep the cash and turn you back.Nice seeing ya EH?
doubleUcubed
If you go to the All Canada show I'm sure they would be very interested in hearing about this topic. I happened to be in Madison, WI when the show was there and I checked it out. They had a very poor turnout at that show. I talked to a couple of the guy's that were displaying there and they were very concerned with the poor showing. If this topic is brought up to enough of them at these shows the right people will hear about it!

the squirrel
I wonder if the Intrfalls/fortfrances border would be a bit more leanent being that northwest ontario biggest buisness or one of the biggest buisness in the summer anyways is drive in and fly in fishing trips. I am thinking that these resort owners pay alot of canadian federal taxes. But the canadian goverment probaly could careless about this being they have bigger problems. Ely Lake Expert
I am just curious.I know they are both bad and drinking and driving is stupid, but what is the difference between a dwi and a dui??Ely lake expert

LaVoi
Ely- yeah they both are bad and stupid but a dui is driving under the influence while a dwi is a little more extreme and is driving while intoxicated, once you reach a certain blood alcohol percentage a dui will turn into a dwi. Bottom line if your drinking just don't drive, I know I won't get behind a wheel after drinking, you have too much to lose. I also crossed the border just last weekend and was amazed at how easy it was to get across both ways. I thought they were almost a little too leniant especially on the way back to the states, they asked about two questions and never checked any I.D's
minneman
My 2 brothers and I went threw at roseau, feb 28th, we each have had a dui, mine is 22 years old, bros around 12, we each knew about this potential problem, so we just made reservations on both sides, my youngest brother had to bring his lab Ed with, and when we got to the border the guy wouldnt even come out of the building. he slid open the window and asked questions from there, bro had to take in the papers for the dog but no probs, no probs on Mn. side either on the way back, Heck Im planning on going again this weekend, BUT, Ill make 2 sets of reservations, ya never know!! BTW, there were 8 of us total and 2 decided to not risk it as on the back of his lic had some indication of drugs or alcohol would void his lic, probably a good choise! icemaster
I read a story about a guy who couldn't cross the border because of a DUI conviction from back in the 70's. he was told that you need a special permit or something like that. hope this helps.
