nofishfisherman
Would I be stupid not to buy it? Money doesn't grow on trees around my place so $250 is ALOT of money. But I just don't think I can get a better deal then this. What would you all do? 0 nofishfisherman
i should say that it is brand new in the box. Not sure about the TC upgrade
0 PierBridge
One down side is the TC upgrade is no longer available.
0 hanson
If its brand new in the box, it will either be an LX-3 or an LX-3tc (True Color Upgrade). And Pierbridge is correct, Marcum used to have a program available to update a normal LX-3 to the True Color LX-3. Not any more.I really don't think $250 is such a bad deal. You may also want to consider a Marcum VX-1. I finally got to see one on the ice and its not a bad little flasher. 0 Northlander
At $250 I would buy it. You cant find a flasher of that quality new for that price too often. Even if it doesnt have the TC its worth it.
0 PierBridge
I think your right NL..... I know Chris doesn't have the TC upgrade and he still catches a few little one's here and there......

I actually like the Yellow-Orange-Red color scheme. But then again, I used a Zercom Colorpoint for many years as well. Really, the only way to become proficient with your depth finder is to use it. Alot! All you are really looking for on a flasher is variation from the "normal" screen. It might be a flicker on the bottom. It might be some orange (in my case) moving in the yellow. It might be a little yellow line right on top of the bottom red. All these little variations indicate fish. Get used to knowing what your screen normally looks like, and when something looks goofy, you can probably bet its a fish.
0 Bob Horn
I'd buy. There a great unit even with out the upgrade.
0 Eckie
I'd jump on that as well...I paid $300 a couple years ago. I don't have the upgrade, but love it nontheless. Like Chris said, once you're accustomed to it (regardless of what colors you're watching), and what it can do, you'll be left wondering how you caught fish without it!
