LMITOUT
Who makes a good, handheld spot light these days? Prefer a rechargable model (12V/120AC). Would like to keep it under $50 if possible.
0 CrappieAttitude
I bought a rechargable spotlight at gander about 3 years ago. It was only about 25 bucks. I think it is a 1 million candlepower spotlight. (don't quote the 1 million) I do know that it was one of the smaller candlepower lights. I normally use it those early mornings out on the water trying to find a duck hunting spot. When it is fully charged it lasts quite a while. I had buddies that wanted to show me up with their 10 million or whatever big hog they had. They did produce a bright beam, but it seemed to lose its juice way quicker than mine. This one came with a car adapter as well as a wall plug.
0 hanson
When it comes to spotlights, just forget about the rechargeable battery. They don't hold a very long charge with continuous light use, and they'll eventually stop taking a charge. The battery itself adds quite a bit of weight to the spotlight.A simple spotlight that plugs into a cigarette lighter adapter may be the best way to go.I do have one of those monster spotlights that Cabelas & Gander sell, mine is the camoflage one and it puts out a ton of light! Once again though, the battery still runs down pretty quickly and they are very, very heavy to hold if you have to hold one for awhile. There's my humble opinion on spotlights, coming from a river rat that runs the Miss & Minnesota Rivers quite a lot in the summer in the middle of the night. I really depend on a spotlight to get me off the river safely at night.

0 18 inch Crappie
Sears has one I got for a gift a couple years back. I seen it in Sundays ad 50% Never had any problems and it uses a Vexilar type battery so it last a logn time. I use it night fishing in the fall and ice fishing to find my truck. I have seen other types like the one from Menard's and this thing blows it out of water.
0 Dave
I bought a $10 rechargable one for around deer camp. 12-volt or 120-volt recharge cords. Been working just fine. Lasts about 30 minutes.
0 wingnutken
I have a spot light called a Husky. It is relatively small and light weight. It came with a charger that has an led that comes on to let you know when its fully charged, and it comes with a cigarette lighter cord so you have two power options. The beam has 3 different light intensities. I use it primarily for duck hunting and it never has lost its charge on me while I was putting out decoys. I am sorry I can't remember where I bought it but I am kind of cheap so I doubt I paid over $50 for it. I have had it for two years. Hope this helps,Ken
0 wingnutken
I did a Google search and found it at Home Depot model HSK117S $23.00, Ken
0 huntingislife
Yep, I have that Husky one too. I think it is 2.25 million candlepower which is plenty bright. The battery life isn't bad either. It also has a nice feature where there is a small light built into the handle that you can run on its own. Just use the small one if you don't need the main beam.
