Tank, Frank, Billy and I made the second to the last ice trip of the season and Tank and Billy slammed limit perch and allcaught some super sunfish, gills, smallies, largemouth's and Bruno even caught a whitefish too grin.gif

Unbelievable action accept for a stretch from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m... That was Billy's last trip of the season and it was good one to put a fork in it...

Tyler sorry about tomorrow but will definitely do it again next season. Tank were going back just so you know, call me later. Talked to Thunderman and he was catching some Oneida Lake slobasaurus's and they were smacking the big stuff. Well here's the guys and the fish...

Tim now is when I wished I had a camera.I had a great time on the big O I ended up with 14 pig stripers which made a five gallon bucket a little over half full they were SLOBS cool.gif. didnt mark a ton of fish but every one I did mark I caught or lost on the way up.These fish were slamming it when they came on the LX-5 they were not wasting time they pummeled it.I see you and the boys had a good time those are some nice fish guys WAY TO GO those smallies must have been a blast on the old ice rod wink.gif.Tommorow will probably be the last of my ice season and im flipping a coin to decide where im going maybe some one can help me out. smile.gif

My grandson went through the ice today but managed to crawl out so beware.

Glad he's okay and yes, you gotta know your ice!! Wear a flotation vest, have those picks handy and fish with other folks this time of year for safety sake. There's still lots of solid ice up in the Adirondacks and places like Lake George but you still have to know the ice conditions and be careful in late March!

We sure did have a great time catching panfish today. Franky and Todd were in attendance and after we arrived Manning showed up and went deep for the perch along with Bruno. Getting on the ice was great stayed on top easily, but coming off was a different story I punched through about 2-3 times on the way off and Todd did the same and sat down before the final few feet to take a break grin.gif Should of had the camera out for that one. ENYTyler called while we were at McDonalds and of course Bud and him whacked some nice crappies out east so I'm looking forward to seeing them. Anyhow here's the pics of the nice hooey grandies we caught, enjoy... Pretty decent action and all fish released...

Great job guys!!! Nice pictures, hope every one had a good time this weekend it seems all but over for us.Buddy and i had as good a day as you can get.Walking on was nice and tight not a cloud in the sky no wind at all picture perfect morning. We went out to find the usual suspects but found NOTHING AT ALL,so bud did the usual and drilled about 80 holes everywhere and we started looking, catching a bunch along the way until bud drilled a few more holes and then yeeeehaaaaa,we found 2 trees in thirty foot of water and pulled the last 26 fish OUT OF THE SAME HOLE that we needed to limit out at 50 in less than 30 minutes laughing like crazy. It just doesnt get any better. grin.gifIn between the madness bud pulled a nice wally out to our pleasant suprise right under the tree and the crappies, cool. We couldn't have asked for the season to end any better than today just fantastic. Here are some pictures of our day enjoy. laugh.giffebuary20073024gy6.jpgfebuary20073023ll9.jpgfebuary20073016ay4.jpgfebuary20073020tw2.jpgfebuary20073021wc0.jpg

Frank the boys wanted to know if I was buying a new power auger next year so they could confiscate mine while I wasn't looking grin.gif You should have seen Bud he was at it again grin.gif Great time had by Thunderman, ENY Tyler, Bud and myself. All fish were CPR'd today to fight another day. Todd was in to the crappies nice over a downed tree and schooled em well. I picked a few but found some nice sunfish as well. We fished two lakes today and the second reminded me alot of the small side of Morraine. Plenty of fish but mostly small except for the bass. Want to thank Bud and Tyler for going at it with us for a final ice excursion of the season and want to say that the lakes we fished today had the best black ice and the best shore ice we have scene, there's something to say about those upper elevation lake. Cold and cough is still kicking my butt but the thought of one last day on the ice before I called it quits was priority 1 and I glad I fished it with good friends. Enjoy the pics there's quite a few mostly featuring Todd he was on fire.. Way to go!

My first crappie of the day..

NICE pictures guys!!Looks like everyone enjoyed some excellent last ice action...I did as well, went to Silver lake saturday and sunday and enjoyed some beautiful weather and fast action.Ice was great until leaving sunday at around 2:00 top layer went real fast, and it had only been sunny for about an hour and a half!!I took home 25 nice perch Saturday and 25 more sunday, all fish between 10" and 12".

It's kind of bitter sweet this last ice thing,But I think we're pretty lucky considdering the warm start we had this winter. All the stuff is cleaned up and pretty much stowed away till december.... frown.gif

Now I'm pumped for some springtime Crappie action,Can't wait!!We have some real super hot honey holes in my neck of the woods,(Buffalo area)as well as I spend a lot of time chasing them down on Chautauqua Lake,LOTS of BIG beautiful White crappie in that lake..

Take care all,I know I got a late start here on this site, but look forward to talkin' ice fishin' next year with you guys...

Later.

Better late than never John wink.gif Nice report on Silver glad you got out and came back in safe. I'll be in touch with our December trip to Minnesota also will be opening the open water forum soon so there's another avenue for you to keep the party going. Big crappies are being hauled in right now some dude from Oriskany caught and 18" crappie and plenty of 14 to 15" slammers it was in the paper. The only thing better would have been catching that slob on an ice rod.

I agree with you tim, time to start Open Water Fishing Version 3.0, I plan to try some river fishing this week where there are some early perch. It's almost a sure thing, the spot is fished through the ice pretty good, but from what I gather the ice is almost gone, so it's time to try.

Saw a couple fools on Oneida yesterday, 1 of them was bucketass/rocky from IS, he got 30++ nice ones, but i'm just not that brave. The place he caught them is 1/4 mile from where we are going in a 1 or 2 weeks. May have found a 3hp motor instead of the just the 1 trolling motor, so might be able to get 2 boats going without rowing. The 3 horse, has a internal tank, so its easy to handle and don't have to carry a tank of gas.

The prophet says "I see jumbo perch in your future", and I have to agree.

TO Tim
