Rubber Grommets

I'm looking for some tiny grommets for a project I'm working on. Any ideas where in the Twin Cities would be a good place to look? I've tried Fleet Farm and Menards, but haven't found small enough ones. What I'm looking for is something with an eight inch inner diameter that would fit in a quarter inch hole.

Ace Hardware or other hardware store. They have those bins where you can pick and choose. Not sure if they go that small though.

Hey Ralph, I needed some grommets the same size, for the same project ...something for a fishing rod I imagine. Got mine at the local do it best hardware store, cost about .09. One of the nice things about living in a small town is the hardware store that has everything

Not going to find a 8" inner diameter into a 1/4" hole....sorry....ha

So, my little project worked out better than I could have imagined! Now, I just have to do it to a few more rods and I will be set for ice! I'd post some pics, but I spilled a beer on my camera last weekend and it no longer works

What did you use to mount the gromment in? And how did you attach whatever you used to the rod?

I think its as simple as finding a single foot rod guide that you can fit the appropriate grommet into and than wrapping and epoxying the guide onto your rod tip. Insert spring and presto!

I've got a couple TB rods that I would love to do this too but the St. Croix guys really get upset when you talk about utilizing this "patented" system in a manner other than on a Croix rod.

Yes, I found an appropriately sized single-foot guide and expoxied and wrapped it to the tip of the rod. Squeezed the grommet in, and good to go. I smashed the ceramic insert out of the guide and it was lighter and easier to find the right sized grommet.

I'm not too concerned about these "St. Croix" guys . Afterall, they sell the springs. And I'm not marketing it, so what are they gonna do about it?

And, this one happens to be on a St. Croix rod, just not one of their top of the line models

Check with your local Radio Shack. I've seen them in an assortment for sure, didn't notice if they stocked individual sizes. Phred52
