How many might be interested in a get together at Silicon Motor Speedway at the Mall for a racing get together.I am thinking like this winter on a Saturday but it would be open to anything.

We could maybe rent the joint and have our own races for fun.

Sifty,if there is interest and you want to do it since you are the moderator of this forum that would be just fine and if you dont care to I would be willing.

I think that day Jr will win. smile.gif

I'm in! I'm throwing out the challenge to the Dog........because this isn't your local dirt track baby! grin.gif

Just an FYI.....they usually don't rent it out until after normal hours, but that is really the only way to assure everyone in the group gets in at the same time.

Pre race meeting @ Hooters??? blush.gif

For those that have never been there you sit in a probably 1/3 scale car, and it is on hydraulics so the car moves realistically. There is a screen infront of you and both sides, and yes, you race against 20 other cars. It's very loud and the car moves around alot, and it pitches in the corners to really make it feel real. It is as close to real racing as it gets. They have Daytona, Bristol and a few 1.5 mile tracks. I have been told by the operators not to race Bristol as it is very hard to figure out. Daytona is fun but just like in real life if you lose the draft your screwed.

An alternative to renting it at night is to just purchase a bunch of races in a row during the day.

We could have this anytime on a weekend.Whatever works for the majority of the guys.So far it looks like there might just be enough interest to have it.

I get to be Robby Gordon. No one will probably pick him as the 55 car will be a top demand. laugh.gif

I'm interested in this, in fact when it opened a few years ago I was a regular member and there was a bunch of us who would call in as members and reserve a time when we could have the entire thing to ourselves for a 50 lap shootout for 50 bucks. Having driven the real thing a couple of times,it's pretty realistic, just missing the fumes and G forces. It's been a few years now, found out what the river was all about smirk.gif

The last time I drove (8-12-06) the car numbers where as follows,

18

45

28

21

17

10

87

24

64

12

88

34

30

9

43

44

6

4

99

49

Since there isn't an 8 car (I wanted that one real bad frown.gif) or a 55 for Lee I guess the fight will be over the 49 car.

I think it would only be fair to award the 6 Viagra car to the oldest guy that shows up. grin.gif

The only date that wont work for me is the 13th&14th of Jan as I am the moderator of the SW forum and we have a Ice Leaders event for that days.If that is the date needed for everyone else then go ahead and have it.I know there probably isnt a date to fit for everyone.

I will probably be the oldest so I guess I will need the Viagra car.

OK, you race against other cars, but can you race against other people? Say, Lee vs. Lawdog or something like that. Or is there just one car that everyone takes turns with?

OK here is what they can do for us.

If we want to rent it on a sat. they will rent it out for one hour at 1200.00 this price would include:

one practice race

one qauifing race

two races.

They will turn off the drone cars for us so we will be racing one another.

Second choice is to show up at 9:45 pm on a sat. night and we can have the place to ourselfs for one hour at the normal race price.

4 races for 40 dollars they will turn off the drone cars for this as well.

The price's they gave me where based on 12 to 15 people. There are a number of dates open for Jan. as well as Feb.

Take a look at your calanders and let's get a hard head count. grin.gif

Hope you all enjoy the final race of the season.
