Hey great idea! Especially the part where Hemlock finds a gas station to donate prizes and mabey buy everyone a nice dinner and also a couple nights free lodging. So Hemlock, what do you say? Hemlock?...... Ahh c'mon. We all know people who own gas stations are very rich and should be expected to share the wealth! wink.gif

pelicanlanding,

Are you a resort owner up in that area?

Do you know this one called Hemlock??? is he for real?

I have read many posts of his, he sounds like he know a lot about fishing in that area of the lake... do you think you could pair up with him and put something together?

Is Hemlock a resort owner/gas station attendent?

This get together has the makings of being a ton of fun......

Holaey

Looks like we are talking hard water huh? I like it. Cant wait til freeze up for a few reasons. Hopefully it will freeze enough for sleds so we can hunt the lake before rifle season is done( which is dec 15), cruise the lake looking for wolf-kills, and just plain cruising around oh and cant forget fishing. Hopefully we can hook up sometime this winter Mulcher. My dad lives just down the road from Pelican and I try to get up there as often as I can. Hope all is well. Be safe this hunting season. Brian

Benelli-dude!

I thought you sounded familiar. Now I know who you are! Next time you go duck hunting you need to bring some higher boots!! Lucky it was warm that day we shot the bluebills, eh?

Did you or your dad get a moose? How was the pheasant hunt?

Take care and we'll see you on the ice. Say hi to Coot for me.

Wild Thing

P.S. To Mulcher... Pelican Landing is on Elanore Bay by the Morson shopping center...

Hey Wild Thing! Do I need higher boots for the deeper water or the other stuff that gets deep? lol No moose yet, maybe when the lake freezes over plus I havent been up there since that weekend where everyone thought I was lost when I was hunting with you guys. Our pheasant hunt was good, 11 guys with no dogs so alot of birds went unseen or ran between us. 3 days of hunting we ended up with about 60 birds. THere was a few guys in our group that were obviously not very good shot when it came to flying targets but they had fun anyhow. Dont worry I missed a couple myself. It aint any fun if you hit them all the time right? We came home just in time, had a cold front move in so on the way home we had some icy roads from south of Grand Forks to home just enough to give us a taste of winter. Coot says he had a couple good mallard shoots after the guys cleared camp up there. Nice to hear from you. Heres my email [email protected] . Hope all is well and say Hi to the rest of the family. See you on the ice this winter! Brian

Hi wild thing,

I'm just joking around a little. I stayed a Pelican Landing 7 times last winter and it was a blast! I can't wait to get back up for some serious hard water action. Lets start a new thread and take Ken up on his offer to host the first annual Morson ice fishing extravaganza. Who's with me?

Also, let me be the first to welcome newbie "Well Fed Ted" to the forum. I don't think he has actually registered yet but I know he is reading this. Come on Ted, make your presence known! laugh.gif

Hey Mulcher! Sounds like a great idea! I'm with ya. Ice fishing extravaganza.... yeah I like it. Hope to get some time on the ice up there this winter. 37 mile ride to Pelican from my house. Done that a few times. Maybe we can get together this winter. Hope all is well! Brian

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
