Air Lucky

On a complete impulse buy, I picked up an Air Lucky Spinning wing decoy today at FF. The price seemed reasonable, has anyone had success with these? I know you need wind to work them, but with the current restrictions and probably future restrictions on motorized ones along with the price of the this one, I though what the heck.

I have used them with some success. If you have the wind, they look just like a motorized one. The one thing I don't like about mine is that it is kind of loud.

my friend has a air lucky and it works good if its really windy but its got to be really windy. My dad bought a winduck and it does not have a 3d body but its like a siloet sp? and it has very good bearings and needs much less wind to spin the wings then the air lucky one.

It will work best in ideal conditions 15-20 mph but I was always adjusting it out in the marsh, they tend to run sidways so I attached it permanently to the rod it comes with.

This way I could face it directly into the wind without it running to the side on me, some dry lube on the wing rods helps

We used them last year with good luck and also the Lucky Duck (motor driven) when it wasn't windy. One key to the Air Lucky is to have the pole straight up and then it won't run sideways but act like a weather vane. I put white tape on the underside of the wing to cover up the metal. You can use a conduit to mount the stake over deeper water. We had a hen mallard almost land on top of it, got up and flew, circled back and almost landed on it again.

no-dont waste your money, loud and only one wing will spin, i got 3 of them and they are not as good as the winduks..the winduks are only 24.95 at cabelas you cannot go wrong with that price.

That's about what I paid for my air lucky...I will keep the reciept and we will see what happens this weekend.

I agree with the Winduck vote. You can blow on the wings to get them to spin that's how little breeze they take. And they are virtually silent when spinning.
