Firestone Destination M/T

Does anyone have any experience with these tires? I was looking at Tire Rack and they have really good reviews. I am going to get some more aggressive tires for my truck. I am either going to get BFG AT's or the Firestones. The price is just about the same, the Firestones are $3/tire cheaper.

I have had the BFG's, and I am a big fan of them but I am curious about the Firestones.

Don't have specific experience with the tires, but I have purchased a couple sets of tires from the tire rack (after giving local B&M's chance) based on reviews.

I'm satisfied with both of my purchases and would say they meet or exceed my interpretation of the reviews/ratings.

One thing I consider though is how many miles and reviews there are in the comparisions.

I have destination SE on my truck now. I hope the M/T is a much better tire. The Destination SE's are the worst tires I have ever had. Original Firestones had 72,000 miles when I changed them and put these on and I have 22,000 miles on them and I doubt if I will get another 10,000.

I'd be really surprised to get more miles from an off-road tire than an all-season or highway tire.

As long as you are shopping tire rack look at the Yokohoma Goelander AT + II's. When I bought them they were just over $100 bucks a tire for 265/75/16's. load range D I think. So far 50,000 miles and still have a good half tread left. Very good traction. Never been stuck.. unlike my OEM firestones.

You can't go wrong with BFG AT/KO. Spendy, but the best truck tire IMO. I had a set on a truck years ago...60,000 miles and tires were still good when I traded the truck in. Now I broke the piggie bank and went with them again and could not be happier.

I purchased my tires from discount tire direct (HSOforum) with free shipping. Saved over $200 from retail chains and my local Co-op installed them.

I bought a set of Firestone Transforce a year ago, and they still look like I bought them a month ago. Pretty aggresive tread for normal use. Tread is almost like new. But, appx.$800.00

Never been much of a Firestone guy. Than the fiasco with the Ford Explorers and Firestone tires.

I like my BFG All-Terrains. On my 2nd set, 2 different vehicles. I was going to check the other day but I think the ones on my Sierra right now I've had for 70,000 miles or more. The tread is starting to wear down now but I've never been very good at rotating them either.

2 sets of tires with combined miles nearing 150,000 and I've never had a flat.

I like 'em. And will have another set going on my truck sometime soon.

I got a set of the Destination LE Firestone's 2 years ago for our Suburban. They supposedly had a 60K warranty on them. There is less than 30K on them and I will need to replace them within a year. They did not wear well at all. I rotate every 10K and the alignment on the truck is good. FWIW.

Me too....

However, based on tire rack recommendations I went ahead with Firestones for my Camaro and I can honestly say it never drove or handled as well on the Goodyear Gatorbacks as it does now on the Firestone SZ50.

It was almost like getting a whole new car with smoother ride AND a couple notches up in performance handling.
