Disheartening

Reynolds

I am not sure how much more frustrating this game could have been. We are in the thick of a wild card race, Garza pitches very well, and we can't even put a run up on the board. A comlete game shutout by Mark Redmond, c'mon. They better beat the Royals 20-0 tomorrow.

They gave Garza 0 support to Redman that is not that good with a poor ERA.

Even bad pitchers will throw good games here and there. His stuff was good last night. These types of pitchers always give the Twins trouble. If a junk baller like this can throw strikes he can be tough to hit.

The announcers last night were saying Redman usually walks 5-6 people a came beucase he struggles with control but last night he didn't walk anyone as far as I know.

Sometimes you just get beat, you can't win all 162 games during the year.

Very disheartening game I'll second that motion!!! Have to give Redmond credit though. He made the Twins batters look like little leaguers swinging for all it's worth. I think the lowest speed was 62 mph and the fastest was in the upper 80's. Heck KC never even had a guy stand up in the bullpen. Today will be a different day. Still a lot of baseball left. I heard last night they said Radki was going to start on Saturday. His shoulder has to look like ground beef. Hope it can stay together for him. With the call ups from the minors should help out too. Go Twinkies!!!!

I'd agree with you to some degree nff. However, Redman was pitching at BP speeds and the Twins should have been sitting back and driving that ball in all different directions IMO. The other thing I feel they could have done was taken Redman deeper into the counts. The Twins swung at a lot of bad pitches last night from what I could tell.

It looked like he was throwing strikes, its hard to go deep into a count if he isn't throwing balls.

Seeing a 60 mph changeup and a mid 80's fastball makes it tough to hit. Its never the actual speed of the ball but the difference in speed between pitches that make it hard on a hitter. last night it was a 20+ mph difference between his slowest and fastest pitch.

It is hard to watch something that slow get by a hitter but there was really good movement on all his pitches last night. People keep saying it was BP speed, but in BP they aren't throwing balls with 2 feet of break on it.

I actually got a good chuckle out of the break on his curve ball at, what, 65mph? It was a biggie. grin.gif It's just frustrating for me to watch a pitcher who is throwing highschool type speeds shut out a pro team like the Twins who are in the hunt for not only a playoff position, but quite possibly the division title. "Just hit the dam ball" is all I could think last night.

We linked over to the game live on mlb.com (I think?) from the twins site. It shows the locations of the pitches, and what the call was. The inning we watched (we have dial up, so we didn't want to tie up the phone line all night) was pretty interesting. Both pitchers were throwing mostly strikes, although they were all over in the strike zone.

Remember, KC did beat Chicago one game in KC the last time they played. We gave them one, but we should be able to get the rest.

Go Twins!

That game should be a wake up call to the rest of the league, especially the Tiger and Sox. It brought out the Twins' most glaring weakness--impatience at the plate. Through something off speed and the suckers will go for it.

I would have never believed that we would have dropped two games in this series. Where's the hunger? I thought we were in the hunt for October? We better straighten things out tomorrow, because if we head into New York playing like this, we are fish out of water. I know that wins don't come free, but when you are playing at home, in the thick of a wild card/divsion race you cannot drop a series to a deplorable team such as the Royals. C'mon right this ship and play like you deserve to be in the playoffs.

Okay this has to stop. This KC series was supposed to be a sustaining series, keeping ahead of the Sox playing the other bottom dweller of AL. Instead we're sinking with NYY on desk. Let's give Santanna some run support tomorrow.

One needs to remember the Twins have many young players that have never been in a playoff chase.Just maybe the pressure is starting to get to them. The young pitchers for the Twins have done well but the batters are better than what they are showing for hitting agaisnt below par pitchers. These are two games that could haunt them before the end.

Young pitchers have done well the last two nights, Hitters are making it interesting. Two wins would have been better then two losses but all is not lost. I know I am going to be watching to the last out of the season. The Twins have been very entertaining this year. At the very least we have a few young players that are showing that they can play in the big league. I would like to see them go to New York and win the series there. Show what home grown ball players who like to play the game can do. I think the Twins show the Minnesota work ethic..

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
