Good Job BLB! That boy looks very happy in that pic!

I shot my first duck at age 8 with a .410. But my dad allowed me to shoot black birds and sparrows around the yard alone at age 5 with my single cocke BB gun. He tought me young about the dangers of a firearm. I still remember my most valuable lesson. The day before my first duck hunt, my uncle set a coffee can about 10-15 yds away, gave me the .410 a told me to shoot it. After I shot it, he picked it up and told me this is what can happen to someone if I don't keep my safety on and my barrel where it belongs!

Last weekend my daughter shot a 20 gauge with my assistance. She wanted to, so I let her. Funny thing was after she/we shot, she gave me a funny look while scratching her shoulder and said, "That was cool"! I asked, "Do you want to shoot again?" she replied with a sharp "NO!". She'll come around.

Cant wait for my nephew to be a few years older so i can take him out on the youth day for ducks as i did with my brother and the neighbor kids. So much fun to watch them get a chance to bag a duck. They take me along now so they can shoot my limit of ducks.

MY son has been in the duck boat since he has been 6yrs he's quite a good caller but he didnt really want to shoot until this year he is 11yrs old and hes as excited about it as I am. I got him one of those rossi combo guns 22rf/20ga/243 in youth model and last year he bagged his first fox squirrel what a thrill, for me probably more than him..
